Model: Grand Luxo Dizzler Year: 91 Mileage: A shade over 80 thou (backed up by all old MOT's) Tax: Nov 2012 MOT: End of October 2012 Location: SE London though have an A frame so anything is possible... Price: £495 Contact details: PM or 0777two30seven70five Lack of funds to justify re insuring a forth vehicle means this has to now go I've enjoyed all aspects of this car not least it's ability to do mega miles for pennies though have found with it not being a Cortina/van/motorcycle/the car her bro gifted us it doesn't have a long term place in the fleet. 2 former keepers on the log bog with the first owning it from new till just a few years ago and keeping it all serviced and stamped up in the book. The second owner didn't keep the book stamped in their 2 years of ownership though I have receipts totting up to a couple of hundred for work carried out. I've run the car for 3 months and as well as the usual oil change and service stuff have ironed out a few issues as detailed in this clicky thread linkSpec level is high (for me) with central locking that works, nice big vacuum sealed non leaking sunroof, tinted glass and stuff. It's comfy as you would expect from Peugeot so takes the front end lowering well though I never got around to lowering the rear beam so you could add new springs for pennies if standard is your thing or drop the rear for free ;D I have a rear light lens to replace the cracked one, 3 genuine Pug wheel trims and 2 brand spanking new in the box drive shafts I picked up as they are a common fault on these and there is some noise from the front to suggest they may be needed. Typically I've not got around to it and there is a element of ain't broke so ain't fixed going on so they have stayed in the boot with tools just encase. All the above parts are included in the asking price as is the Kenwood head unit with front aux input. I do feel an idiot for letting this go as it's simply amazing in terms of toughness, cheap to runness, galvbodyness, and brownness so will happily mothball it if it dosn't go and towbar it up for winter jaunts to the Mablethorpe for the beach racing season which would save me hundreds on the fuel bill. Mmmm, brown. Drivers mat tatty though carpets are good. J995HTR SH(i)TR numberplate valued at £6000* How many left says it's 1 of 4 left in the country so mega rare* *Above statements may not be true

Want it, it's yours ;D I'm away for a few days and will endeavor to log in on the mobile to check any messages though I find this hard at the best of times so mobile may be best if you want to get through. I'll be in Dorset which is renowned for rubbish reception so if you can't get through leave a message and I'll call back, txt is often better in these circumstances. Pretty sure the Pug has nigh on half a tank of derv left in it too which will be good for 200 mile or so as it will do the best part of 60 to the gallon I can frame it to a new owner too at cost though sadly my pez transit does no where near 60mpg!!!

Hmm, I'm currently running around in a 306 DT with very tatty bodywork but a great engine, very tempted by this so I could rebuild the DT engine with a bigger turbo and epic pump mods and drop it in...
I'm going to Cornwall for a week but if this is still around when I get back I'll be very interested...

Still waiting on my pal getting back as to if he is up for the Volvo, I'll let you know via txt when I find out. Really and truly I need to thin the fleet a little, free caravan coming my way needs a parking space too! DO THIS AND WIN The standard lump id great at what it does and punts the 309 along at a better rate than any 1.9 non turbo vag product I've sampled (probably a lot to do with the light weight shell wrapped around it) Tickled turbo lump would be a GTI smoker in more ways than one ;D

how much delivery to doncaster dn7 postcode I run up to Mablethorpe and return during the winter which costs me 120 in fuel for the van. With Doncaster being a tad further and the weight of the car on the a frame I be doing myself out of pocket if I said 130 but meh, I will.

That's a beauty Will, shame you've got to sell it, some one will get a bargain! Thanks Tim, guess you'll have a whole bunch of rims that would go on this in your collection? Shame it's got to go as I've enjoyed having it though need the cash and all the time I'm playing with this the tina sits dormant! 6 hours at a leisurely pace, my guess is that it would need no derv other than what's in the tank to get you home. The right car is never to far, especially if within the UK I'd happily (if insurance was still current ) drive this car anywhere at the drop of a hat. As said, I am happy to frame it at cost (dohc pez tranny yo!) though I would need the petrol money up front A so I can afford to do it and B so I don't end up towing it to the outer Hebrides for a tyre kicker. Despite several pm's, interest on the thread and a phone call or 2 the car is still here... Cheap modern retro motoring in a GLD styley, come and get it folks. I'm not so secretly wishing that in the mean time Mrs. Will's Leon will expire in a major way so we can keep this as the daily kiddy cab.

Ordinarally I would agree, but it's not practical to be away that length of time, me and the missus are specialist foster carers and me being away would be particularly unfair to Mrs Boyd, and the A frame cost would be rather steep, with me being over 300miles away!

Cant believe this hasnt sold. Itll pay for itself within 6 month in fuel costs alone. Id buy it but I already have one. Just in case folk are wondering, mine gets on average 55mpg. It gets 50 no matter how you drive it, and the best I managed on a tank was 58.8.

Fair play, sounds like you have other things of far greater importance going on and good on you for it. It's a shame my insurance expired the other week as I could have driven it up for you dirt cheap and got the choo choo home. Thinking about it I'm sure I could jam my motorbike in the back with the seats down as the load area is decent for a smallish car what with the lack of turrets in the back. Thanks bro ;D I read your thread before I bought this one and knew it was a purchase I had to make. Yours is looking fine BTW, I like them on steels. Come and grab a barg before the world sees sense and they start hitting rwd escort prices**This may not happen/escort prices ain't sensible anyway. All the same they are very underrated by the masses these 309's.

BTT- Will's a top bloke, and having bought his peasant spec 205 from him in March, I can relate that it was probably the easiest and most straight-forward car purchasing experience I've had to date...

Cheers mate. Always pleasing to see a old car still going strong, glad it's in good hands and still receiving love rather than being driven into the ground and bridged. Sounds like we've both hand a hand in saving that one. It seems the era of 205/309 was the golden age for Peugeot as so many are still going strong. I started the 309 on the first turn of the key today after it has sat for about 3 weeks since the insurance expired. The battery looks fairly recent and is obviously a good one so will no doubt serve well through the coming winter. I wish my Cortina have galv sills too

Pre tax back bump!
I feel I'm pushing my luck now by keeping the tax disc on it so will have it in the post to claim back the remaining months by the end of the week unless someone scoops it up.

Busy week at work means I've not got around to sorting the tax issue yet, guess that will happen early next week now. Looks like I may be keeping it so will get it run in for an early test as and when I have the cash spare.

Hi all, I purchased this from will two weeks ago but I am selling it on as I am missing my volvo way tooo much. It sounds bent but as is life.
I have just spent a fair bit of money and time getting it through the MOT of which passed today with a few advisories some of which I sorted.
I fitted one of the drive shafts will supplied and rebooted the other as it had split. He supplied two but one was the incorrect part.
The cracked light was replaced with a matching cluster as will supplied a mis match cluster. This is quite notorious on 309s.
Shocks and springs from a GTI were fitted as it wouldn't pass with the old chopped set up.
Less than 100 miles ago it had fresh gearbox oil, will replaced the engine oil around 2000 miles ago.
The donkey dick exhaust was removed as it began to blow, it has been repaired. The repair may be a bit crude but it doesn't blow and passed the MOT okay.
The brake hard lines were advised on the MOT so they have been wire brushed and under sealed.
It also comes with clocks with a rev counter and can come with a steering wheel boss if the price is right. The old chopped springs will be present in the boot too.
I am located in Reading, and i am asking for £625 due to the time and money i have put into the car.
Any info PM. I will make a separate For sale thread as soon as I can, but for now this is all I have time for Thanks lee.
