First registered 21 08 1985. I am the 5th owner. The previous owner had the car since April 2000. I bought the car in April this year with a view to doing a full restoration. These B2 90 Quattro's are becoming very rare and sought after now!! I've been on the look out for one for ages. I shouldn't really be selling this one as I'm sure I'll be looking for another one in the future. However, at the moment, I really don't have the space for it and am too busy with a couple of other projects.
The car has covered just 138,000 miles. These cars are capable of double that mileage. The mileage is supported by very comprehensive service history. The book is stamped up to 96,000 miles by the supplying main dealer Lockyear Motors of Surrey.. From there on, every bill and receipt has been retained for all work and servicing. Also included is every MOT from new. The previous owner also applied to DVLA for the history of all the previous owners. This too is included along with the original handbook/ operators manual.
As stated, the car is very original. However, it is in need of light restoration. It was taken off the road in 2003 due to slight head gasket failure. Although, I have had the car running for over 30mins at operating temperature with the electric fan cutting in & out as normal with no obvious problems. Brand new radiator and exhaust fitted just prior to the car coming off the road. The car starts, stops, turns and drives fine. The hydraulic tappets are a little noisey. I think there may ba a slight blow from the manifold joint. The passenger side front electric window doesn't work and the rears only work via the switches in the rear (a common fault on these cars). O/s rear outer door handle needs replacing.
The interior is one of the cars best features. Considering its age, there is no wear on the seats at all. The carpet is almost as new. It really is testament to how well the car has been looked after over the years!
The bodywork has a few age related marks, dings and scratches. The bottom of the o/s rear arch has gone adjacent to the rear of the sill. Also the boot floor where it meets the back panel. The base of the n/s screen pillar needs repairing too. These are very common areas for rust on these cars. Repair panels are available cheaply for both the boot & arch. The paint work overall is looking tired. The car really could do with a full strip down and re-paint. Please note, the car does not have a battery so you will need to supply one.
