For sale is KKA 334D, a 1966 Singer Chamois in Forest Green.
This is a project car having been in storage for 20+ years however will require little work to get it back on the road.
The car was first registered in Liverpool. The original owner put the current 89,472 miles on the car, mainly taking it on trips to Spain. The owner decided to move to Spain and the car was put in storage whereby the second owner obtained it storing it further before I acquired the car.
The car is in relatively good shape and would make a fine show car with a little work. The main jobs needing to be done are the replacing of the passenger side rear arch lip, the outer arch having rotted through near to top of the arch curve. The inner arch lip is salvageable. The rear passenger moulded corner is also in need of replacement. Where the sills meet the front arches also require attention although this is only outer bodywork not inner sills etc. Front H brackets also require looking at, the brackets themselves are fine however above the brackets, effectively in the top half of the ‘H’ have rotted through to the storage compartment.
This is the worst of the work needed as listed above.
Other than this the cars sills seem solid and inspection shows the inner sills to be in good order as is the floor pan. All trim that made the Chamois that little bit special is also present and in good order.
The interior of the car is what makes KKA special. Its Singer interior is in mint condition, the seats, door cards and dash all spotless. The walnut door capping and dash face are also spotless, shining like the day they came out of the factory.
Inside a Ford 1600E style gauge pod has been fitted with C’, vacuum, rpm, clock, amp, oil gauges, all period 60’s items.
A ‘Masarati’ air horn has been fitted to the car as to have electric windscreen washers, an alarm and radio. The car also has original Lucas chrome head lamps and its starter handle and dog. A ‘Peco’ sport back box is also fitted.
The car is not currently running but has done in the past few months. I have been trying to hunt down the problem but just cannot get it to start. I have fitted new plugs, points, a reconditioned Solex and carb-manifold gaskets to no success. Fuel is getting through and there is a strong spark, but no start.
I have also fitted new master and slave clutch cylinders thus the clutch feels fine. It was seized when I purchased the car. The brakes however are not currently functioning believed to be caused by a leaking brake master cylinder.
PM me for more details. I have a price in mind and am thus open to offers.
