I'm reluctantly selling one of the best cars ive had! This is my daily car to drive to work (34 miles) and have loved every minute of it! Its been to loads of retro meets, towed my trailer tent on camping expeditions and have also been to sussex in it to see the parents, a 730 mile round trip. Its never faltered or gone wrong in any way at all. Its also excellent at the moment to take to car meets as you can get 7 people in it, fully heated in your cabin seats with the TV on!! but I will come to that....
Ok, I bought this early this year from a guy in Whitby. It had an electric fault as it wouldnt charge the battery. So I took it to a local electrician who replaced the charging fuse and I also replaced the battery to a heavy duty model so it now charges fine.
The other problem was it would not start first time as you can hear the starter motor not catching the flywheel properly. It is a bit hit and miss, most times it starts first go, the most it has took is 10 turns of the key. The above electrician said it was the bendix gone on the starter and he would charge £35 to replace it if I took it off but to be honest I never bothered as it doesnt worry me.
I was going to use this car to do my mobile graphics with the cutter in the back but never had time as I am too busy at work. So instead I fitted an electric inverter (500w) and installed a 19" LCD TV in the back with built in dvd player with remote. I also fitted a surround kit in the boot with a remote that lies in the back.
I also fitted a volt meter in the back (in pics) so you can keep an eye on voltage drain with engine off.
Now to the standard stuff! It comes mega loaded. the list is (i may forget somethings!)....
*Cabin seats in rear that revolve and slide. Also turn into a bed!
*Toyota deep pile carpets
*controls in rear and front for seperate heating, cooling and air con. Air con is icy cold!
*mood lighting on ceiling...blue leds
*full electric curtains all round which are electric controlled from the front
*Front oven / cooler / ice maker!
*fully working electric suspension...Toyota TEMS
*6 sunroofs with pull covers. 2 also are removeable
You can also lift up the rear seats so it can turn into a useful load carrier.
Its like a limo in the back especially on a journey. Just recline the seat, put your feet up and put on a dvd!
Last owner also spent over £700 putting new electronic suspension on 2 yrs ago (have reciepts). Also have some history on paperwork too. I serviced the car when I got it, didnt need it but I always do it!
It was missing two curtain oils which I replaced with heavy duty curtain wire. they all still close.
There is no rust underneath and on the body. The only points that there is is stonechips on the bonnet, very small bit on rear door above window and small crack on plastic overriders. Also very small ding on front splitter and rear bumper.
It has mot till april 16th next yr and tax till end dec.
Bad bits...
needs bendix repaired (but starts fine anyway)
small bit of chrome missing on back
small dent on fuel tank (been like that for years)
very small dot of rust on back
two curtain rails replaced so they do not close on the switch but pull closed. the rest fully work.
Head unit works but being an import needs an expander...unless you want to listen to radio 2! also the cd player sometimes sticks so I use an cassette adaptor for my ipod
Good bits...
loads of toys!
lots of tread on tyres
very very reliable
ideal parts collector or family car
TV / DVD was bought last month so has 11 months warranty remaining which I can pass on
fully working aircon and oven etc...try finding one like it!
Fully working tow bar with twin electrics
no rips or marks on seats inc front
Now the price..I'm looking for £900 for the car on its own or £1200 with all the electric goodies inc new TV
anyone welcome to test drive etc but will have to be on the weekend or after 8pm during the week due to work.
The pics arent the best, usually the wire for the tv is hidden down the back but I was tidying it out!
Thanks for looking!
