I loved watching Cleland in his Vectras when I was a kid. Loved his determined style, and how passionate he got sometimes! People often forget that he could drive too!

I have one of these! a super clean white 16V! alot of vauxhall haters out there but ive been in love with this model since I was 14, had mine for 7 years and everytime I open the garage door is like the first time, Ive never drove another car that excites me the way the GTE does! awesome underrated car!!!

Totally agree, streets ahead of the total curse word 16v golf gti with that asthmatic 1.8 16v,once lowered they could match a gti in the twisties no problem, plus they did 150mph on the digi dash,I`d say not that innacurate either. I`d love one now,I had the Gsi cav which was great but the Gsi astra mk3 I had didn`t do it for me,looks superb but didn`t do anything better than the cav.

The best replica around, even down to slicks. Still a road car though with original Recaro interior.

Totally agree, streets ahead of the total onanistic 16v golf gti with that asthmatic 1.8 16v,once lowered they could match a gti in the twisties no problem, plus they did 150mph on the digi dash,I`d say not that innacurate either. Funny you should say that, I had a MK2 Golf GTI for my second car (as a runabout while the GTE was been restored) In short the GTI was a joke! uninspiring, boring and slow. The GTE is much faster and sportier better looking and better equiped. Yes the XE engines are silly quick when healthy saying that the 2.0 8V's are no slouch. I noticed in the GTE your sat pretty much on the floor with your feet out in front (like a go kart) as oppose to the Golf were your sat on a bar-stool!! I had it for 6 months and straight swapped it for a corsa TD no regrets! lol. Anyways heres some quality footage of a GTE doing what they do best!.....
