It's a Essex V6 and not a Stag V8?

spot on, the car was converted by a company called HME when the car was 6 months old. The conversion is a work of art, adapter plates, etc as it still uses the stag box. More pics on this soon

A lot were converted to different engines the Stag engine picked up a bad reputation. Might be worth putting a stock engine back in though, they're not quick but it'll add value to the car and they're reliable now people have realised why the cooling system was curse word. They sound like this too

I too am definitely interested! I have a Stag project that was blasted over a decade ago but has been left in grey primer - by me. But I shall be putting it up on a spit for a full work over in the next couple of years or so. They primer has at least halted the rot, as far as I can tell and the car is in a proper garage too. Keep us posted. "I'm" a.k.a. StagManiac

I am quite liking how your Stag is progressing along. Looks the business and it should make for one damn fine tidy car.
Whilst I admit I believe the Stag V8 suits the car and sounds wonderful that conversion does look to be half decent. A local specialist to me is selling such a car with a 3.1 tuned Essex engine. He was saying that it shifted quite well.

the V6 was fitted to this car when it was 6 months old, all the paper work for the engine and conversion etc is there so it will be keeping this engine
