We normally do the Vauxhall/Opel bash at Billing each year , have done since 2006 but decided not to this year for various reasons so we looked around for a break from the norm and came up with The Scottish Car Show in Edinburgh.
It's held just to the west of Edinburgh which is only a leisurely two hour drive straight up the A68 for us .
We knew it would feature a bit more modern stuff but I don't mind that to be honest , long as it's tastefully done that's fine .
In the end we were pretty glad we hadn't legged it down to Billing :
Yeah , it got cancelled due to the torrential rain .. ( Marks pic , VODC )
So we decided to head to potentially an even wetter place
We took off from Mickyj's gaff , his is the green Viva saloon . A nice thing , only done about 14k miles from new , I wish my shell was as good !
Mick led the way North , clouds didn't look great
..made it to the border :
..and on we went .
Weather still a bit iffy until we came to about five miles outside of Edinburgh and hang on a minute , what's that up there
Oh hello , haven't seen you since March
Pulled over for a quick bite to eat :
..and we made it to Edinburgh :
... reminds me , must send the in-laws a card.
..and a nice Saturday night out in Edinburgh was had by all . Not that I can remember it mind you .
Sunday we had our spot at the show , we were there as North East Retro Driver or NERD if you like..:
205 pleases inflatable thing .
Pink wheels or pink shoelaces ? It's a toughie .
The Engine Coffee Table mob were there , I rather fancy one .

Loved this , Pontiac GTO . Spoke to the owner and turns out he bought it back in the late eighties for about £250 . My offer of taking it off his hands for the same amount now fell on deaf ears .
