I know, I know, another Boso Q and A thread...................YAWN!! But its a quickie and hopefully someone will be able to help. Firstly whats the legality of the front chin spoilers? (see pics below) Secondly, is there a definite way to build them or just trial and error? I found this picture which seems to imply that some carpentry skills wouldn't go amiss But is it as simple as just getting some marine ply and my jigsaw out? I then stumbled across this little bloggy thing which would be bloody awesome to see. Boso XJS ;D After much ale intake sober deliberation I have come to the decision that my future shall be brighter with a Boso 3rd gen Prelude sat in front of my house. Low, Lairy and as garish as Liberace's wardrobe. Have some pics to make up for my maniacal ramblings.

HAHAHA I knew I'd get this reaction! I only really want to do it because you NEVER see it done in the UK to such extremes and due to that I believe it would be a perfect style to adopt.

Oh dear (!!! x 1 million) Some people don't get it and probably never will. This is a good thing because you get to have hugely polarised reactions. No middle ground. Drive down the street and everyone will react....even a 'NorthernMunkie' as proven above. You have to do this, you have written it and the prophesy must be fulfilled ;D I am counting on you and will be in awe of you (and Mike if he's got any kind of hand in this) if you pull it off. If only you lived closer, I'd love to lend a hand, a jigsaw, a space at the unit it if meant seeing this become a reality. In fact, if you can wait until after the Gathering (which I am sure you want it done in time for) then I'll set aside a whole play weekend to help build this with you.....properly fibreglassed - the works! Let me know?? 286% respect.

As was said, I suspect VOSAman would have a massive haemorrhage as soon as he clapped eyes on you. How about making up a 2-piece chin spoiler of epic proportions, and stowing it inside the car when driving to/from shows? In fact I'm sure I've seen a few Japanese photos with 2- or 3-piece spoilers, so maybe they have similar issues?

Doing something for the sake of it is utterly stupid; doing something because you think it looks great is the only valid motivation for modding. ;D

"I need aphorisms like I need a hole in the head"[/i] - Zaphod Beeblebrox... (while we're all throwing our quotes in) Yes. Do it because it's fun and awesome. But yeah, I'd be prepared to make it easily detachable, I dunno what the rules are but I guess it would come under one of those things where a police officer could give you a prohibition notice because they don't like the look of it (have a word with Nightmares Racing about having the supercharger sticking through the bonnet of his Cortina estate. Or not ). You could more than likely get away on the road with a more subtle shakotan-kinda style. But where's the fun in that?

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

Think it would be "for shows only" and maybe not the public highway.......think Mr Plod might have something to say..... And if you do decide to fit it as an everyday item...might need to imform your insurance company as it might be classed as a "modd" Apart from that...go for it!!

Ahh a mixed reaction I see! Thats exactly the reason why I should do it! garnering attention = Barry boy? well just call me Baz! Garnering attention from a car = FUN, FUN, FUN!!! Do any of you J fanatics have any sites, write ups, blogs etc on how to build these spoilers or am I on my own here?

Detachable is the answer, I've seen some proper bosozoku cars running with removable chin spoilers and wings, they get taken off and put in the back/boot of the car... much like our rmad's exhaust
