Hi all, this is the build thread for my mk5 'tina. Here is all the previous work I have done to it www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/topic/203778-mk5-cortina-gl-20-auto-in-gold/What I'm thinking about doing next is fit a spoiler to the boot, like on the mk2 grannys. Then an exhaust and manifold system A couple of photos of how it stands at the minute, to save the people who don't want to go on TMF

Looks like a good project! Get the front lowered! Gaz do -3" springs if you want to lower it more. I have them on mine with Spax shocks and Polybushed.

I'm wanting to uprate the shocks. but at the minute I'm liking it's current stance, as I can't have it too low as I'll rip the exhaust off on my driveway, as it's been warn away just under after dropped curb >_<

I think Gazebo shocks are a bit cheaper than Spax but I read that they have adjuster corrosion problems. What tyres you got on the wheels?

Fronts are Matadors, and I'm not sure what the backs are. But they are 175/70s on 13x7s

Ah nice size. I have some 13x8's and 13x7's that I was considering putting on mine but probably with a slightly smaller tyre. I was thinking 175/65's on the 13x8's and 165/70's on the 13x7's

I had to run a pair of 205/50s when I was waiting for my new tyres to come in, and I liked the look of the tyre on the rim, but it then had massive arch gap, which I want happy with, do would mean I would have to lower it further, which I can't really do with my driveway I do keep looking at some pug wheels, like the 206 gti wheels, and we had a gti come into work with the wheels painted fun meal grey and I thought they'd look pukka against the gold paint work, but I don't know whether the fwd offset might not allow for them to be fitted?

The offset of Pug wheels is actually lower than the Cortina's. Mk5 Cortina's run FWD offset wheels.
