thought id start a readers ride thread on my latest project . its a 1972 mk1 escort pro street running a 383ci chevy V8 it goes ok but the engin and box won't be staying in it . work won't really be started on it till the end of November 2011 as I still have some finishing off jobs to get done on the cortina van before that goes off to its new owner main one being to fit the current engine from the escort into it so I will essentially be getting just a rolling shell really . pics : how I got it

Bloody nora. I associate pro street with that tacky rubbish they do to modern cars, so i thought "lord what might have happened to this" Was so surpised when i opened the topic, that is absolutely perfect. Moar work please

whats going to replace the power house then? cheers yeah its going to stay with a 383small block chevy its just the one it had fitted wasn't part of the deal with the 2 cars so the 5.0 small block ford that was in my cortina van is being sold to help fund an all new crate 383 for the escort along with a few updates and upgrades to the chassis and a respray in an all new paint scheme

Love it. Sounded superb when you left the 8 Ball, and the drive by on the opposite carriageway! It really is nicely put together as well ;D

^^^It was on a box frame iirc, with a Rover V8. Coolest escort i've ever seen, don't think anybody's got close to replicating that stance since.

Floors and both bulkheads are scratch made. (I MOT it for him). Needs lots of work to be fast but looks sooooo cool.
