So, I needed a replacement retro daily for my totalled mint 190E, and I couldn't afford to replace it with a similar example, even if I could find one! After much deliberation, I've gone different, uncommon, and pretty off the wall with this slice of metallic beige finery It's an SE, running a 2.0i five pot with 115bhp, a five speed manual box, 4 electric windows, electric sunroof, central locking, PAS, factory alloys, chocolate brown interior, one owner (bar the guy I got it from who's only had it a very short while), and just 72,000 miles from new!!! As you would expect it drives pretty much like new, but needs a service and a damned good clean!

My 190 merc was one of the best cars Ive owned and equally as good was my Audi 100 2,3e. Great car that should serve you well, love to see this hit with the lowering stick and a nice set of wheels

Now this sir, has very great potential. Good score. Bad luck about the Merc though.

Nice! Was a shame to see the Merc go in the way it did, but this a pretty cool replacement, hardly ever see these about and should sound sweet with that 5 pot engine

I do like Audi 100's, especially with the 5 cylinder lump in

Cheers guys, It sounds great and pulls pretty well considering the weight and the lack of power, and under the grime and scratches I think it's gonna be very presentable indeed. A service and a proper clean/polish for now, but you just NEVER see these any more, let alone modified, so perhaps a few inches could be removed from the ride height Rims? Possibly, though it needs to be on a fairly tight budget. Not sure if these stock alloys would work, but maybe I could squeeze something in there... What's the PCD? 4 x 100?

Nice, a type 44 with Aero alloy wheels & factory fog lights, this gets my personal thumbs up. Can't tell from the picture but it even seems to have a Blaupunkt stereo, very cool!

Now here's a car I'm just not gonna click with. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with it, and it's rare (howmanyleft.co.uk says there are only 28 of these left, and that includes SORN examples!), retro and a useful size, it's just not a patch on my written off 190E, so I think I need either RWD or a different type of car - this leaves me feeling flat - automotive white goods, if you like. It's a 1990 2.0i five cylinder model with a five speed manual 'box. It was company owned from new, then bought from the company by the original custodian, was part exchanged for a nearly new Mercedes a couple of months ago, and I've just bought it from the guy that plucked it from oblivion but then didn't use it, so effectively a one owner vehicle!!! It shows a genuine mileage of 72,000. Kit includes: 4 electric windows Electric sunroof Central locking Power steering Original Blaupunkt Melbourne stereo Height adjustable drivers seat Leather steering wheel and gearknob Front foglights 5 original alloy wheels EVERYTHING works perfectly, and it drives spot on. As you'd expect, there are a few very minor chips, scratches and dents, the wheels are sliightly kerbed, there's a small localised amount of rust at the lower rear edge of the OSF wing, plus a few tiny bubbles just starting on the OSR arch. Inside it's VERY good, bar a slightly loose drivers seat, which I'll be attending to. And the boot is HUGE! It had a cambelt in 2010 at 70,000 miles, and I'll be giving it a minor service using genuine parts, as it's my daily driver. All the tyres are good, and it's got new wipers. MOT'd until 10th June, and taxed until the end of September. I see absolutely no reason why it won't sail through another MOT. I'd value it at around £850. So it's now up for swaps or deals, with cash either way, for something interesting. Try me with whatever you have, stock or not. If it doesn't go as a swap or deal, I think I'll be keeping it stock and maintaining it properly, but come June I get a NEW daily (SWMBO gets an extra company car entitlement), so it'll then be for sale openly with a fresh MOT and I can then hunt for something that DOES float my boat Dale
