Some of you may know I bought Skinny (Daves) 340 of him some time back now. Is he still about on here, i've not seen his new Merc yet?
Since then i've been fairly slack as with all my projects and so far all i've done is got some rims for it and given it a thorough spanking, well as much as you can in a 1.4 ;D
Anyway pictures speak a thousand word so they say, so here they are:
As purchased before wash
Felt like I needed to get rid of the g old man pimpin strip, so peeling and white spirit later I had this:
After washing, with my pricey wash and polish stuff, normaly I NEVER wash my cars, but I thought i'd treat this as it's still pretty rust free I may as well keep it that way:
Here we have the during polish shot's I was well pleased with how much better it looked after a good wax on wax off session:
Left side done, right side waiting:
Here you can see how grey the bumpers have gone, i'll be redressing this later:
And here is the mankyest bit of the car, bar the rear number plate area:
Now for the fun bit, browsed through some Mini websites and came up trumps with these bad-boys:
However I then came up with the problem of fitting the wheels square due to the different PCD, I pressumed wobble nuts would be the answer, but I still couldn't get the rims to centralise.
So I enlisted a local machining company to knock up some aluminium spigot rings for £30 which I thought isn't too bad and he did me a spare one, like thus:
And the bolts:
It was just a case of uniting the wheels with the car now like so.
YES, BEFORE YOU ALL SAY IT I KNOW IT NEEDS A SEVERE BEATING WITH THE STICK!!
So it now looks like this with a tidied front valance, wire brushed and painted and I used a back to black type of gel on all the plastic trim.
So this is where i've got to with it so far.
Hope you like, but tbh not that bothered coz I know I do!
