Hi, New on here and thought that my BMW is fairly retro so here's some pics:- As the title goes, its an '87 model, with the 1.8 M10 engine so fairly peasant spec but in beautiful condition. It was owned by the same owner from new, up until last year when he part-exed it for a Mercedes at the main dealer and all I can guess is that he never drove anyone around with him in the 3-4000 miles he did a year in it because the back seat and passenger seat are like new, and accompanying 3 doors were very stiff when I got it, and I don't think the window winders in the back have ever been used. I also think he liked polishing because the paintwork is still in great condition. It was then bought by some bloke who used it to get to work and back and put nasty 19" AC Shnitzer reps on it. He sold it to me when he decided that he needed something more modern and I swapped the 19's for some 740i rims. This, routine servicing and a clutch is all I've really done to it. Also worth a mention is my '87 Porsche 944 2.5 which I don't currently have any pictures off because its in bits, but is being fettled for the PPC magazine £999 challenge at Mallory Park, plus the odd track day. Anyway, thanks for looking, Steve.

A beauty. Often the lower spec models like this end up being well looked after and lasting well.

It's so nice & refreshing to hear of someone putting them back to the way they should be. 19" reps have no place on an E28....so well done for getting some rims on there that look more apt.
Looks like a stunner. Bodywork is beautiful & straight. As mirafioriman says, the povo spec BM's tend to be left alone & cherished while the higher power ones get tweaked, tuned and often ruined.
Looking forward to seeing more photos. In the meantime.....ENJOY driving it.

Cheers for the comments Guys. Something that I forgot to mention is that it still has its original toolkit and all the original factory and dealer stickers, including the running in info at the top of the windscreen.
I'll try and post some more photos later.

Steve, that is a beauty! I have always been a hge e28 fan and I have/have had many rusty ones but that is just beautiful. I love that its a 518i as well, its modest but stands out for being so perfect! I am green with Envy - I miss driving an e28 every day! hehe
Look forward to seeing your Porsche in PPC :-D

I'll get some pics up of the Porsche once I put the bodywork back together (my friend is spraying the bonnet, lights and badge panel at the moment). What, you don't drive the M535i every day!?! I would given half the chance! Indecently, I've never driven one but have always really liked them. Can I ask what are they like to drive and have you done much to yours?

Holy cow! thats my car!!! Well nearly, mines a lowly 518i also.. slow but I love it plus its not too thirsty so gets driven everywhere. Weirdly I had a set of 740i rims on watch on ebay but missed out on them by a pound today Now I know what mine would've looked like with em on! This is mine photo'd earlier today at limes cafe meet

This is mine photo'd earlier today at limes cafe meet My other half was working in Coalville up until recently (Alliance & Leicester) and she said that she'd seen an E28 like mine. I thought she might had got confused because I havn't seen another one like it but now it all makes sense! It's funny you mention the wheels because I was originally looking for a set like you have on yours, but the phrase 'poor quality wobbly children's play pony poop' springs to mind so I settled on the later BBS. Is yours a lux because it seems to have velour and fogs which mine doesn't have? How long have you had it?

Lovely looker. Sharknose are definitely on my must have list. Nothing wrong with Povo spec as they do indeed seem to be much better looked after. Welcome BTW
