Here is my 1200 bug running a 1914 twin 44 motor, I've been dipping in and out of this forum for a while so I thought I'd better stick my car on. The bug was my first car, I've owned it 14 years, but it was left in a garage for years with a leaky roof, so the rot set in.
It's had new:
Floorpans
Decklid (cabrio twin vented one, for extra breathing)
Bonnet
One door
Rear quarters
Door pillar repair panels
The panels in the engine bay I forget the name of
I'm sure a lot more I've forgotten, as it was a while ago.
Things altered from standard:
Ride height
Billet running boards
GT Beetle Apple Green Compomotives
One piece windows (ridiculous idea, stick with quarter lights)
T-bars instead of bumpers
Heating system removed
1914 motor, twin 44s, 1.4 ratio rockers
Super comfy SSP buckets
New freshly powder coated Compomotives with new rubber, fitted today:
How it was after years of not moving in a rented garage with a leaky roof:
Fresh from having pretty much the bottom 6 inches replaced, with my Cosmics fitted.
The 1914, twin HPMX 44s, with a super competiton exhaust (not great for use in traffic, but an ace sound on the open road), quick enough.
Need to finish the interior, got a new black Mountney to fit, but it is going to be minimalist. Plans are ribbed rubber matting on the flooring and tunnel, some carpet in the back, that'll be it I think, other than removing the back seat, and hiding a tacho somewhere.
It lives outside, so isn't in perfect condition, with a few bubbles on the gutters, bonnet and decklid, but nothing too serious.
