Well I figured it was about time I put a up a thread on one of my cars, originally a Mayfair, but now running with an MG metro 1275, and an endless list of mods, which I won't bore anyone with! I've owned it since '04, when I saw it for sale locally and snapped it up for £400, only had 16,000 miles on the clock, even though the body was a bit rough.
I restored the body, and gave it a full repaint in Chrysler red pearl with a black metallic roof, along with a few bling bits..
I soon got a bit carried away, and had an argument with a ditch..
The front panel was pushed in about 6 inches, it pulled out ok, and was repaired and repainted and I drove it around like that for a year or so, until I fell asleep at the wheel and drove into a florists..
I decided after that to replace the front, as it was a bit crusty round the edges..
Removed the front end..
Rather predictably being a mini it needed flitch and scuttle repairs, which I carried out, and then decided to do something a bit different and fit a van front panel. You can't get them any more so I bought a van grille section and grafetd it into a saloon front panel.
I then went a bit mad and resprayed the whole car.. in flame red, it's original colour.
Also fitted group 2 arches, Wellers, and a few other bits.
Drove round like that for a while, here's a few pics from that time..
With a nice type 3 VW I painted..
I left it outside over winter last year, digging it out again in April this year, and realised I should probably replace the sills which would definitely have been an MOT fail, and I don't like bodging so they had to go.. Anyway I got stuck in and ended up replacing both inner sills,
Outer sills..
I also replaced rear subframe mounting points, the N/S door skin, front floor pans, and lower flitch panels.
Then of course I gave it another respray
And this is what it looks like to this day.
Thanks for reading ;D
