this one has me scratching my head... its my Lexarse IS200 doing it...
there's a horrid squeeking and grinding coming from something to do with the drivers side wheel, applying the brakes gives a very short and light pull to the right as well when driving, but only a quick snatch when you first apply them and not strong.
I first thought it was the pads being too worn as I knew they were curse word, (advisory on last MOT), but I'd not got round to changing them because whoever did them last tightened the caliper bolts up waaaaaay too much, anyway, got them done, noise went away... for a day and then came back...
Jacked it up again to have a proper look round, spent about an hour with it jacked and prodding and pulling things to do with the hub, brakes, suspension... nothing found, couldn't get it to make noises when it was jacked up at all, and funny enough, once I lowered it again, it went quiet again, noises had started again by the time I got to work this time, I'm guessing its a knackered bush, or track rod end... anyone any other ideas?... I think I'll just change the track rod end next, although there doesn't feel to be any play in the wheel when its jacked up..
