Swop for something interesting or old enough to go on a specialist policy, not a great fan of FWD but try me anyway.
I want to keep this, but due to my insurance company being complete arseholes I cant afford to, I need to sell it or swop it for something that will go on a specialist policy as they have put the price right up after a clerical error and if I cancel the policy rather than transfer it they are gonna steal a leg as well as an arm.
Its the right year for turning the boost up, a MBC, a boost gauge and few bits of pipe and you can run these at 200odd bhp, its a late enough one to have the stronger 5 speed gearbox, but early enough to still have the live axle on the back (cheap LSD available from a Jeep) and it has the clear indicators, repeaters, and rear lights and the nicer grill.
Its the "Celebration" model, which is the low pressure version, with no external turbo badges, they run 3psi and 136bhp, but the only difference between these and the high pressure versions are the airbox has less holes in, the boost pressure is set lower and there is no boost gauge.
The high pressure 160bhp versions run 6psi, the stock ECU will cut the fuel at 15psi so you can turn it up to around 12psi safely which the stock drivetrain will handle easily.
It has,
Tax 03/12
MOT 08/12
V5 in my name
Half leather interior (no sliding while sliding was my plan)
remote central locking (2 keys, only one Fob)
heated seats
electric windows
electric heated mirrors
tow bar with working electrics
working "Nivomat" self levelling rear suspension (don't worry its not complicated, its basically just a set of shocks that pump them selves up as you drive off with extra weight in the car, they can be replaced with stock shockers)
one headlamp wiper does not always work, the wiper is loose on the shaft, the motor still runs.
A/C works but does not blow cold, I have never investigated as I was just gonna pull it all out and convert to an air pump for over inflating slidey tyres.
It has a new clutch slave cylinder and new seals in the master cylinder.
Its got an odd wheel on it, it only came with three alloys theres another steely as a spare, but again as I was gonna keep it I was gonna put some nicer rims on it.
It could do with a service now I think, its taking a few seconds to start instead of being instant and I can feel a very slight missfire at low revs occasionally other than that though it runs and drives really well.
Exhaust has got a slight blow at the front and the back box got off and left so its just had a straight bit of pipe put on the back, its still very quiet to drive.
I have been honest about the car here, its been and currently still is my daily driver, its prefectly useable and easy to turn into a stealth road burner.
right, heres the pics,
there is some damage here, it should be possible to fix as there is access to the back of the panel and the bumper trim is easy to get hold of.
