A very special car close to my heart. Currently the fastest normally aspirated Volvo in the UK setting a 15.78 at Santa Pod.
Some of you may have seen this at RRG hooning up the track. It's my Volvo 340 with a Williams F7R engine boasting about 160bhp using a professionally installed powerflow stainless exhaust system and performance fuel map.
Car comes with ATS Cups, racing steering wheel and number 13 pool ball gear shifter.
Comes on standard suspension as I've been doing a lot of motorway cruising.
Diff is open.
In brief:
Good:
F7R engine - no bodging and installed to a professional standard. Running currently on Chrischip but can supply the thirstier map which is worse for fuel and performance but runs less eratic. Engine has done 55k since rebuild.
Good tyres all round. Front 2 almost new.
Straight through Powerflow stainless exhaust professionally installed.
12 Months MOT.
5-6 Months Tax.
Goes like curse word off a shovel and will thrash anything without a turbo.
Very reliable, starts first time, every day. Woot for injection!
Sounds freaking awesome.
Bad:
Drinks a little oil, but hasn't gotten worse over the past year/20k. Appears to be valve seals. Approx 2 top-ups between oil changes.
Needs a new battery, will hold charge but sometimes struggles to start.
Some body rust but nothing terrible.
With the fuel map:
Stalls in traffic when very hot - but this is all down to the custom map. Can supply standard map which it will run better on.
Pinks if not driven correctly (full throttle at 1.5k, going up a hill). More exaggerated when hot.
But in a 25 minute commute I don't see it ever get this hot.
Put up with these and you'll see 30mpg in town, 40mpg on a run and some brilliant top end performance.
I'm selling because I'm just a little bored, want something new and exciting. And a lot bigger. Always seem to be moving house these days...
The day it went in...
The day the exhaust was installed:
It'll be on ebay by Thursday so if you really want it, come have a look!
