Hi folks,
As some of you know I will soon be needing some more space around my place and a bit of spare cash so this beautiful girl has to go.
She's a '69 (tax exempt!! ;D)on a H with cream leather interior and has only 32,000 miles on her!!!!
I bought her just over a year ago as sort of a favour to someone who just needed rid and didn't know the first thing about shifting old cars. My intention was to get it up and running again, MOT it and sell it one. Well I almost got there!! ;D Since owning it I've replaced the entire ignition system: Battery (Varta), coil, HT leads, spark plugs, points, condensor, the whole lot. I've also paid quite some attention to the fueling system. I had the fuel tank professionally cleaned and repaired, new copper fuel lines the full length of the car, new filter and pump.
Other things I've done are replace all the locks with new ones and replace the ignition barrel with a original part supplied by Brook House Volvo. In fact all Volvo specific parts were bought from Brook House, any general mechanic bits from my local factors.
From an admin point of view I've spent months chasing the DVLA around getting this car re-registerd under its original reg number and chassis number. (long story but I'll happily share with any interested party)
Good bits:
- Beautiful car, a genuine classic. Tax exempt!!
- Is a 'crossover' car. Last of the earlier body type but came fitted with the later injection engine straight from the factory.
- Lots of work done already
- Fully registered and up to date with the DVLA (this only took 7 months of wrangling but I've finally got it properly sorted!)
- Full length Webasto?? or webasto style sunroof, that doesn't leal
Bad bits
- Interior needs attention and is 99% complete, only head rests are missing
- I haven't started any welding, but she will need some for MOT i'm sure.
- freely turns over but wont start. Fuel is not getting to the engine bay, I've narrowed it down to an electrical supply problem to the fuel pump, but I don't have the time now to sort it out. could be a very easy fix, could be a bit more tricky??
The price reflects what the car owes me, but if you turn up with cash and a trailer to take her away then I'm sure a deal could be done. Obviously no MOT or tax (but it's free anyway) so trailering away will be needed. I'm only trying to be honest, She has got some scabs in the paint work too and would definitely benefit from a full resto in my opinion, but I know some of you guys love the rusty, (sorry, patina ) look!

Please do come and have a look, viewings very welcome and recommended!
