My business partner Steve and I have a Citroen BX TRX for sale, that we took in on exchange with a Fiat Stilo we recently sold. According to the (slightly questionable) "how many left" website there is only 3 of this particular model.
The car has no MOT/TAX - both of which ran out about April time this year - it has been stood since then. I am pretty sure that there was some paperwork with the car (receipts or old MOT's) when it turned up, but I was too busy basking in its unique frenchness when it turned up to pay any major attention!
Good overall condition bodywise with some lacquer peel on the rear spoiler being the only notable issue, Steve says that one door might have been dented and pushed out but I didn't notice it when I walked around taking photographs. There is one small rust scab in the drivers door shut the size of a 50p piece but by no means this is terminal.
Inside is good with no holes or rips to the interior and everything works as it should. The seats are like a plush black velour, and are extremely comfortable and in great condition. It needs a hoover out but is by no means filthy.
The car drives well and straight, and pulls up well in a straight line - I took it for a quick drive around the industrial estate when we took it in and was pleased with how it went. I believe this is the same 1.6 engine as in the Peugeot 205 GTi 1.6?
Bad Points. For the MOT it needs brake pipes replacing due to corrosion - Steve reckons these will not clean up. There is a leak on the hydrolastic suspension pipes in a couple of places therefore a couple of these will need replacing (these are metal pipework). The suspension spheres and pump good and the car does go up and down as it should and rides comfortably. One patch in boot floor is all we spotted for welding underneath on a quick inspection - otherwise it appears solid. As far as we are aware that is all it needs for an MOT.
This car is worth saving and an easy job for someone competent with a brake pipe flairer (please note that the suspension pipes are a smaller bore than your normal copper brakepipe). Selling as we have simply no time to sort this out (otherwise I would be running this myself).
We are asking £350 or near offers. The car is located at the workshop in Stoke on Trent and can be put up on a 2 post ramp for inspection if required. It WILL drive so you can take it up and down the area outside the workshop if needed (at your own risk due to lack of MOT/Tax) but will need trailering/a-framing away.
Contact Steve or me on the numbers shown above, Steve can answer questions in more detail that I.
Here is a picture for now - I am just in the process of getting more detailed pictures uploaded to Photobucket, so will be posting up more shortly.
