Model: Citroen BX DTR Turbo Diesel
Year: 1989
Mileage: 61000
Tax: October 2010
MOT: October 2010
Location: Spilsby or Horncastle, Lincs.
Price: £300
Ok well as you guys know, I bought this recently when I found myself carless, I'm now sorted with that respect so the bx is surplus to requirements, and as I've nowhere to keep it, it needs to go.
The previous owner spent over £800 to get it up to scratch, including: new cambelt & tensioner, new "octopus", front disks & pads, ball joint, track rod end and driveshaft gaiter.
It's also had new drop links & a pair of spheres. Also there is a new towbar fitted as well as the exhaust in 2007.
I have all the old MOTs to substantiate the mileage, which is now around 61k.
So - Good bits
All of the above.
On the road, MOT until October 20th, taxed until the end of October
Starts, runs and rises fine. No known problems.
Tyres are fine, Michelin on the front, Goodyear on the back.
Interior is still fine, no holes or major wear, just a bit of UV fading.
The bad bits
Paint is very flat. I think it's lived outdoors all its life. Black sections along tops of doors etc have rubbed off.
Electric sunroof tilts ok, but only slides back about half way & then jams, so there's definately rust in the runners. On the bright side, it doesn't leak.
It needs a repair to the driver's door hinge area for the next MOT, as the hinge has cracked away from the panel.
Cracked windscreen (from a stone, not rust) on the passenger side. Fortunately not an MOT issue as it's outside the swept area.
Bad connection on rev counter, so sometimes it works but mostly it doesn't
There is a diesel leak when running, but I'm told that it is likely to be the shaft seal on the injector pump, but I haven't the time to investigate further, its still pretty economical even with the leak!
Any questions please give me a shout.
