Model: K10 Nissan Micra Year: 1986 Mileage: 53K-ish Tax: end of October 2010 MOT: Think its over 6 months - will have to check Pics: see below Location: Farnborough, Hampshire Price: £300 ONO Contact details: 07717742582 It's with a heavy heart I have to sell this, I simply need something bigger and more practical for daily duties. Good points are: great on gas (45mpg+), nippy around town, virtually rust free, interior is MEGA clean, good tyres, plenty of MOT, low mileage, totally unmolested, cheap insurance (silly cheap) Bad points: well, there's only really one bad point... it's developed a small, intermittent fault whereby the engine sometimes gets 'starved' and coughs and cuts out... for no apparent reason. Somedays it's perfect, but others it does it maybe a couple of times. I've tuned up the carb so it can't be the mix, and Ive checked the needles and there's no blockages that I can find. It's really random and I just don't have the time to try and fix it as I rely on it to get me to work everyday. Plus my life is 100% hectic so I don't have any time to sort it at the weekend. I bought this at a bit of a steal for £375 a few months ago so, with the fault, am offering it at £300 ONO. I'm taking a hit on it but I can't wait any longer (and have just put a deposit on a *whisper* modern daily *cough cough*) Here's the pictures.... TWEED! Offers/interest preferable through a call or text on the aforementioned mobile number anytime no later than 10pm, any day. Ill give this a day or two then its going on eBay.

What cc is this little car?
After it cuts out how quickly can you start it gain? Does it start straight away, or do you have to leave it?
Is there a good time to look at this? I'm off work this week so could come during the day, or one evening?

Its always crazy to insure a kid BEFORE they've passed. You'll probably find another car would be more like 2500!

The problem sounds like fuel vapourisation to me... Very nice Micra JB, if I had the space etc...
Spooks - when I first passed my insurance was £1700 on a 1.3 Austin Maestro!

The problem sounds like fuel vapourisation to me... any idea what would cause that? maybe a cracked fuel line somewhere?

blocked fuel filter?, fuel line? even blocked fuel cap? dicky fuel pump, seems like something like that too me, Ive had similar simptoms from dubs that ive ressurected after years sat in a field with stale fuel and so on. Just tends to be silly lil faults that cause the big hickups...

I had similar symptoms when I had a K10 Micra. Mine was caused by back pressure in the fuel tank. Each time it coughed and spluttered to a halt I just pulled up, released the filler cap temporarily and it started again. Worth trying next time it does it. Nice looking car by the way. If it was closer I'd be tempted as they are a great and simple car.

cool - sounds like it's going to a good home, which is important
my first set of wheels was a G reg white K10, and I've turned out completely normal, so your lad should be fine
- just point him at ryan's blue k10 for inspiration
