I've bought another 205, so unfortunately this one has to go. I've owned it since March this year and have covered the best part of 8,000 miles in it, during which time it's been very reliable.
It's a '91 Auto, these have a 1580cc engine very similar to the GTi, but runs a Weber 36tlc carb. The gearbox is a 4-speed auto. The car is in good condition all round, it feels nice and tight to drive, with no clonks or knocks. It's got power steering, central locking (which works) and electric windows. These photos are from when I first got it home, but it still looks the same now.
The interior is the best bit of this car, not only is it pretty much mint, it is all BEIGE.
Obviously with any car of this age there are some bad points, the autochoke can play up sometimes, which makes it a bit spluttery when cold and it sometimes hesitates when you set off. A carb service (and perhaps manual choke conversion) would probably sort this out. A previous owner has cleaned the paintwork on the bonnet with what looks like a brillo pad, so it's not great, but a t-cut and polish would probably hide a lot of it. The rest of the bodywork is good though, the only rust is on the N/S/R door bottom and can hardly be seen.
More photos available on request.
The car now has a full MoT, so I've nudged the price up accordingly.
