Hello!
Right... Here's the shizzle. I've been a loiterer around these boards for many moons, but never a seller! So here goes.....
The Beauty that lies before you is my 1990 Volkswagen Corrado 16v. I know, I know, it isn't the VR6 or even the G60 (the chorus of moans and groans is tangible). But hey! It's pretty cool! And the running costs are so much lower, something we all need to be concerned with in these austere times...
So what do you need to know about it? Let's start with the good news shall we!? I have been driving the 'rado daily for six months now and it hasn't missed a beat. The bodywork is in good condition with only a couple of minor bubbles which are to be expected on a twenty year old motor. It has electric windows and sunroof which all work just fine, in fact the interior in general is in good condition (no scuffs or rips on the drivers' lumbar area which is unusual in a "hot" hatch from this era!) and it comes with a Sony CD player with Aux input (I like to listen to Dadrock on my pod while I cruise but that is another story). Oh yeah, the spoiler lifts at 40 mph and goes down again at 15 mph. And it works! I never tire of watching it tbh (on the pictures it is manually set to the up position purely so I could clean under it!) The boot is big! and with the seats down you can fit two bulk packs of 2by2 from Wickes easily! So it's stylish and practical!
I wasn't sure whether this went in good or bad... So I'll put it in the middle! Somebody (not me) decided that they wanted to make it very low! So they did. Now this in some ways is fantastic, I mean, It looks so much leaner and meaner than a standard 'rado (especially on it's big set of 17s) in fact... It makes a standard VR6 I sometimes park near for work look a bit like a shopping trolley with it's standard wheels and high ground clearance! The only problem is that you have to be VERY careful when negotiating speed bumps! Very careful indeed. It also reduces it's load capacity somewhat. But then if you want load capacity buy a transit, innit.
Now for the bad... Well I'd like to think not too much! No tax currently, a couple of MOT advisories (wheel bearing) the mileage isn't the lowest, and if you do wanna come see it it's probably going to have to be next week sometime as it is parked at my girlf's house and I'm working very long hours all this week. But any questions. queries then don't hesitate to give me a shout and I will try my best to answer them!
Oh yeah.. interior shots to follow... I have to give it a quick hoover first!
