Firstly, I've organised nothing, apart from knocking the above poster up with MSP.

What I'm proposing is that on Sunday October 18th, anyone who fancies it can go and have a chilled-out day on Brean Sands where you can park your ride up on the beach* and have a relaxing day chinwagging with other RR-ers, and partaking in a burger or two if you or someone you know has brought a BBQ.

Footballs, frisbees, retro push-scoots, burgers, ice-creams.....and some cars. What more do you want??

There are dozens of campsites around Brean and Burnham if you fancy making a mini-weekend of it, it's entirely up to you.

Brean Sands is situated between Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-Super-Mare, a few miles from J22 of the M5.

Anyone up for it??

*Please note that there's a charge for parking, and that there is a strict 15mph speed limit on the beach.......and it goes without saying that no-one from here would be stupid enough to drive out into the soft stuff, as you'll never get your car out.........

It's a public car-park.....so if people just turn up and erm....park, then it obviates the need to have Risk Assessments, Child Protection Officers, Planning Permission, Public Liability Insurance, Hi-viz jackets, bollards.....ad nauseum
;D

Cheers for the offer of help, much appreciated!

Watch out, the Grockles are coming!!!!

Day after little 2fster's 3rd birthday - she'd love nothing more than nosing round some RR rides as a treat! (I mean that with no hint of sarcasm!)

Oddly though, I seem to recall SWMBO has got a school reunion to go to that weekend and, as she went to Castle School in Taunton, that could put me down that way on Sunday. ;)

Hang on, it's probably Taunton Carnival. Oh yeah, we'll definitely be down there. Now, just need the car to start veering to the left around J22!

I'll be up for this.
They do have a beach patrol & they will tolerate nothing... I took my Anglia on the beach & it has a super stiff clutch, the tinyest bit of wheelspin & the beach patrol truck was straight over saying he'd recorded my Reg & was gonna forward it onto the police for reckless driving ::)

Beach Patrol finishes for the season on Sept. 30th. Which is kinda double-edged in that yes, there's a chance that there won't be some over-zealous Parkie watching your every move....but on the flipside if anyone does anything stupid and ends up stuck in the sand (and it happens VERY regularly), they'll be walking home, and their car will be recieving multitudinous visits from Mr. Tide.
