This is my all time favourite BTCC car and in 1996 as a 10 year old boy all I wanted was an Audi A4. 13 years later in 2009 I got one for 300 quid......It was in no way as the BTCC car. But that, to me, is what BTCC is all about. Seeing everyday saloon cars fighting it out doorhandle to doorhandle and it can really make you believe (when you are 10) that they are exactly the same as the cars you see on the road. So yeah my favourite BTCC car ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagames/NFS/speedhunters.com/Images/AndyBlackmore/BTCC/st/btcc_1996_biela.jpg[/img]I am sure someone will be along with a much more informative post at some point! Thankyou Rob

They were apparantly super good on the brakes due to 4-wheel engine braking, which had never occured to me TBH.

I used to work for Xcel motorsport and my Boss then was John Bintcliffe, He was Biela's Team mate back then. We had loads of these pictures in our workshop etc.

A4 Audi was the best ever car in the BTCC, i saw a round at silverstone once, truly golden era of BTCC
ever since the 30kg weight penalty BS, thats when i couldn't give a monkeys about BTCC, and surprisingly thats when the manufacturer's started pulling out.
its about time BTCC died a death, and stopped clogging up the race tracks

Already laid the wreath - It's dead already; what was once a glorious beast is now toothless mongrel. Moto GP, BTCS, NASCAR and V8 Supercars are where it's at right now for me. Even F1 is getting sterile.

Well I like the BTCC and the comments in here have really surprised me. I really don't see what's not to like and I thought my fellow RRers would be with me on this one.
This is what the grid looks like this year:
Chevrolet Cruze Honda Civic Ford Focus BMW 320si E90 Toyota Avensis Audi A4 Vauxhall Vectra SEAT Leon Proton-Gen2 Honda Integra Chevrolet Lacetti VW Golf MK5
I'd say it looks pretty healthy.
Anyway, yeah the A4s were wicked, changed the game in fact.
