The AZNP Mladá Boleslav Skoda 130RS was Skodas serious entry into Touring Car racing. Typically a few privateer racers would pop up from time to time with an S110R coupe (or the odd time an S110L sedan) and especially the late 70s races in Brno, CZ, which were often dominated in class by Skoda.
1975
For 1975 they entered in Division 2, up to 1600cc, against the Zakspeed Escorts. The car featured, and had it's debut, in just one race...
Brno 4th overall (3rd in class)
5th (4th)
followed by a 110R (9th), 120S and 100L (DNF)
There wasn't a sign of them in 1976. Skoda was represented by a sole 110L in Brno that year.
The big news was that the categories had changed, and so next year, it really kicked off.
Their entry was into the Division 1 classification, up to 1300cc. They used a 1298cc OHV engine.
The classifications at the time ran Div.1 1300cc, D2 2000cc, D3 3000cc, D4 over 3000cc. Each Division was hotly contested, with the years that Skoda was running being mainly led by BMW, running the famous 635, the 530 and the 320, making championships almost a foregone conclusion. The Rover SD1, VW Scirocco, Ford Escort and Audi Coupe are some of the more famed rivals.
Division 5 was introduced and saw some fearsome turbo cars entered - the Kremer Porsche 935 for example.
It was with this backdrop that Skoda entered their own little coupe...
1977
Brno. Finished 13th (1st) and 20th (3rd) (works cars) with a 110R in 22nd (4th), one works retirement at 20 laps, one privateer retirement and two privateer DNS.
1978
They did not run again until Brands Hatch 1978. 15th (3rd) and one DNF.
Mugello, one DNF
Salzburg, two NC finishes, one DNQ
Zeltweg, 3 DNF
Brno, 13th overall (1st in class) 20th (5th) 21st (6th) 22nd (7th), 3 NC, 1 DNQ:
Nürburgring, 1 DNF, 2 DNS
Zandvoort, 8th (1st) and 10th (2nd)
Silverstone, 20th (NC), one DNF (wheel fell off!!) and one other NC.
A good year for getting into the run of things it would seem. A few works entries and a few privateer successes must have led to the following proper assault on achieving a title.
1979:
Monza, 1xDNF
Vallelunga, 1xDNF
Brands hatch, 8th (1st) and 9th (2nd)
Zeltweg, 7th (1st) and 1xDNF
Brno, 10th (1st), 15th (3rd), 20th (6th), 22nd (NC), 4 privateer DNFs and one DNQ
Nürburgring, 1 private DNF
Zandvoort, 9th (1st)
10th (2nd)
and one DNF
Salzburg 2xDNF
Silverstone, NC (1st)
Zolder, 15th (2nd) 1xDNF
A little bit of success but not enough to accumulate enough championship points to amount to anything. Basically unclassified.
To 1980:
This was not an easy year at first glance. The entered cars in D1 read like a whos who of popular small cars.
Division 1 1300cc:
Alfa Romeo Alfasud Sprint
Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Junior
Audi 50
Talbot Simca Rallye 3

7 out of 9 class (Division 1) wins = 140 pts, equal with Audi (Division 2) and BMW (Division 3).
Despite being equal on points, for whatever reason, Audi took the championship, Skoda 2nd and BMW 3rd.
SO CLOSE!
And so, to 1981:
This year they were racing against:
Austin Metro 1300 HLS
Datsun B110 Sunny
Audi 50
Alfa Romeo Alfasud Sprint
Alfa Romeo 1300 GTA Junior
Fiat 128 Berlinetta 3P
Talbot Simca Rallye 3
Monza
10th (1st) 13th (3rd) 1 DNF
Vallelunga
This race had an interesting result - the Skodas finished 7th and 9th, but due to 5 of the top 6 (all the BMW 320s and 635s) being disqualified, the Skodas finished much higher up. No effect on actual points in class though.
2nd (1st) 4th (2nd) 7th (3rd) 1xDNF (another wheel-loss!)
Donington
6th (1st) 13th (3rd) 15th (NC, retired with engine fault but completed enough to count) 1xDNF
Salzburg
13th (1st)
Brno
(It's worth noting that on this 11km track, the Skoda had an average speed in qualifying of 100mph! 31st on the grid. The female driven Camaro that posted pole did so at 121mph average)
10th (1st) 11th (2nd) 14th (3rd) 21st (4th) 1xDNF 5xDNQ

Silverstone
15th (1st) 17th (3rd) 2xDNF
Zolder
11th (3rd) 12th (4th) 2xDNF
This year they took 7 out of 8 victories - equal with the Div.5 BMW 635s, but this year the title was handed to Skoda.
1981 ETCC Champions!
And that was it. Division 1 was increased to a 1600cc capacity limit, and was immediately swarmed with VW, Toyota and a larger Audi. Skoda 130RS never competed again.
