cars like this would be one reason the Government wants to bring in Anti-tampering laws although how this one got through a "valid" MOT is beyond me

Good on the owner for taking that off the road and shame on the Idiot who did it in first place!
Whats with that welding talk about pidgeon curse word Id have to really work at it to make it look that bad and I'm no welder.
Also whoever tested that needs to be reported to VOSA asap. I would think the pictures in this thread would be enough to land them in pretty serious trouble

That's nothing a quick wire brush and a knock back with a grinder won't fix. It'll look great in in time.
I imagine there are a lot of first time welding jobs out there that look like this.

I was primed and ready for a "This isn't Barryboys" type response. But blimey... That goes beyond bodgery I think. Check those cars carefully before you buy them people. All that glitters is not gold.

A shame it was so lazily completed underneath since it looks like they actually thought about fitting it properly from the outside. (Goodness that EG nose looks so huge on the CRX) Glad they only "worked" on the front & not major structure like sills/underbody.

Surely u would notice at least some of that when buying the car??? It was swapped for a clutchless EJ9 civic by the new owner. the new owner is a Trader so it was destined to be dismantled anyway. - thank god!

That is pretty shocking, but not entirely surprising tbh.
Some of the 'welding' that people do on cars is truely shocking. If you can't weld, DON'T !!
I understand that there are genuine enthusiasts that want to modify their cars and will want to do it properly, either learning themselves or getting someone else to help, but it does make you wonder what is going on in the other peoples minds. When confronted with 'work' ike this it's easy to see why the Fun Police want to ban/restrict home modifying and maintenance
And how many times have we heard " It's not pretty but it's strong" ?? I'm sorry, but just NO !!

I've never used a welder, but I'm sure I could do better than that, with a tin of spam and some matches!!!!!!!

I like the idea but the person who welded that wants a serious talking to - starting with "put down the mig and never use it again!" I'm all in favour of "you never know till you try" but they must have known this was way beyond their skill level On the plus side, I now know my welding is well above what's need for structural car repairs ;D

Haha that looks like i've built it! Not really a huge fan of the look. Some how the EG front looks bigger than the Crx body. The proportions just look wrong.

Some days you just need to take a grinder to an inanimate object, just to make your day a tiny bit better!!
