 Sad news~ James Dawson.
« Thread Started on Aug 29, 2006, 3:38pm »

It is with much sadness that I write this, one of the Act Hot Rod's young members James Dawson passed away this morning. He won the Young Guns award at the NASC Nats in 2004 and owned a "Chuvitt" and several VW's. His dad owns the yellow Plymouth Fury in the club.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
Rest in peace fella.

Yeah was devastated when I heard this. Met James in 2004 at the NSRA Supernats when he was just 17. We were camped up with him and his girlfriend and folks and the shuv was in the pipeline. Took him on the cruise for a genuine Jonny69 white knuckle ride in the Anglia and kept in touch off and on since. He was really into his cars with a passion and he will be missed.

Really terrible news.

hi, we met james at the first nats at the suffolk showground 3 years ago. my son spike and james had shuvits in common, very similar in style . they were mates from then on and many a time we'd hear james approaching 5 minutes before he arrived, bloody nuisance, we loved him like any naughty kid! he borrowed my shoes once to go on the pull because they wouldn't let him in the club with his steel toecaps on. he was full of enthusiasm for all things automotive and he'll be sorely missed.

All of the nightmares send our heartfelt condolences to chris (known as dad to the nightmares since drayton last year) and the family.

rest in peace james

ged, julie, spike and charlotte and all the nightmares xxxx

This really chokes me up, James was a great bloke with buckets of enthusiasm and a million and one plans. Hard to know what to say but mine and Angela's thoughts are with James's family. RIP mate. :'(

I too didn't know this person, but I don't mind telling you all that reading this has choked me up good and proper. I'm a parent to 5 kids and a "stepsonbrotherfriend" and I look at those special young people and think WTF would I do if it were one of them? Life is sometimes so brutally short and we should all learn to enjoy life to the full right now. Sometimes easier said than done, but FFS, reading about this has given me a boot up the ars e.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences go to anyone for whom James was loved by.

You want to speak with the man upstairs, go on and do it. I'll stand right here and listen, hat in hand, but I ain't talking to that son or a female dog. And I'll be holding a grudge for him letting this befall a sweet kid like James

Quote (name changed) from a movie called Open Range. I aint a religious man, but things like this makes kind of want to be, just to have someone to blame. Sorry if me quoting movies is bad taste, i`ll remove it if anyone thinks so, but I think its one of the best things ever said about someone that has passed away too early.. :( Shit, he was younger than I am, and i`m still wet behind the ears for gods sake.. I didnt know him, but stuff like this gets me all choked up. Rest in peace

I'm very sorry to read all about this, I recently lost a very close friend and it was absolutely heartbreaking, infact its the hardest thing ive ever had to go though. It not nice to think of another family and circle of friends are having to go though the same thing. My thoughts are with his family and friends at his terrible time. I know with my friends family, it made them feel a little better knowing that everyone was thinking of them.
