As some of you know we have just returned from an epic 2 month jaunt around the classic car museums of europe in a 26 year old campervan,we saw and participated in some amazing things that we will never forget in our life.
Of course photos were taken, slightly marred by a camera meltdown halfway through the trip which resulted in some of the photos not coming out as well as i would have hoped but we managed to capture nearly all of it which i will be posting up in instalments as i sort them out.
Anyway, back to the main story..having arrived at Calais to snow we decided to press on south, the main idea to head to Spain for a bit of sun,the weather continued to batter us with more snow, torrential rain and gale force winds which threatened to blow our slab sided van clean off the road on more than one occasion...
On the 2nd day we pulled over after 5 hours of driving bearing in mind we were avoiding toll roads to keep costs down,to let the dogs out and water the bushes
Just along the road we noticed this
so decided to investigate further, seeing as we had discussed getting a cx at some point to replace our ageing volvo tow car.
We were in no way prepared for what we were about to discover...
It turned out it was a garage that had been dealing in citroens for years, the owner was very old, spoke very little english but seemed happy enough for us to wander round taking pics when we produced our camera and a bottle of wine.
We assumed this was a customers
Then we turned round and wandered into his yard......
Having spent an hour or so wandering round that lot we returned to the van to continue our journey, more spots, museum pictures and barn finds to come....watch this space! ;D
