....mercilessly stolen from Driftworks, from a discussion about using diesels for drifting. In amongst the faff was this video from sweden. Now I like this video for many reasons. A) it shows a wide range of 'talent' I kinda get bored of people pulling off 9/10ths perfect drifts all the time, so its kinda fun to watch some people learning B) a reasonable smatter of retros..... a couple of big Volvos, the aforementioned merc, a starlet (? I think) with the words ugliest bonnet bump and no front damping hahaha and others. C) the mercs engine in question actually sounds FARKIN awesome, and not in a 'sounds bloody sexy for a diesel way', just plain SEXUAL. d) the merc is a diesel, so something different from the norm e) the mercs driver has some skills f) its a ratty tatty smoky sexy beaten merc being driven like a nutcase. Whats not to love? Anyways, enough wittering........ Pic.....

That merc is truly amazing. What the hell's it packing? Something huuuuuge and exciting by the sounds of it. It doesn't sound like a normal diesel.

yeah its a bit of a slow buffering video only just found out theres a carlton in it near the end! Forgot how good they look low, although he shoulda kept the flat arches I reckon As for what the mercs packing, no idea, its defintely turbo with 6 cylinders or more. I'm guessing at a later merc diesel engine + boost + fueling?

That Carlton has re-ignited my desire for one. They look so evil when they're low!!
s15 driver seemed to have all the gear and no idea. Although I doubt I'd do any better.

yeah I could start a whole thread on low carltons if my old hard disk didnt nuke itself. All they need are it to be a facelift version in dark metallic. slammed to the FLOOR, some decent rims, and they look the nuts. IMHO anyways

I saw the vid on DW too, I thought nearly all the other drivers were pants, I was really suprised! I'd certainly have given it a go in my car, though I know its not really powerful enough for the big corner, the rest should be good!
Was really glad when the black volvo started drifting well.
And the Carlton at the end!
Merc rocks SO much harder than all the rest though, if only it was lower and had less roll....

yeah looks a cracking track. The guy in the red volvo starts to get the hang of it later on too Would love to have a crack of that circuit with the senny. That big corner looks like serious fun. I kinda like the fact the mercs rolly polly LOL adds to the daftness of the whole experience!

I just love how the Merc just slides perfectly trough the course, while the fancy looking driftcar doesnt really get anywhere near it in style! ;D

another pic of it... found it somewhere on a swedish forum, if I remeber correctly the caption was something about 300, huge turbo and 400+ hp. I'll try to find it later tonight And i'll have to show some support for my native country finnish mercs:
