There's some proper freaky karmic stuff going on today, my first day back looking at the forum in about six months and this pops up... Anyway, it's in my garage. That's my mate Clive driving it in the picture, I bought it from him. Got plans, but also just spent the last six months abroad... So yeah, I saw it for about ten minutes the other day when I swapped some kit over in my storage unit, and I'll be back there in ten days or so... When I get to find out just what the puddle of trans fluid underneath is all about There's a readers ride thread about it somewhere, search for Land Rover and it should show up with some more pics. It's got a Rover P4 chassis and front suspension, narrowed Discovery back axle with (not so bad now) lowering blocks and a 3.9 Rover V8, pretty much the rest is gen-u-wine 1948 bodywork ;D

I don't know Mr Bryn, you've got to be the luckiest sod out there. You travel the world, writing about the coolest cars out there, meeting all the influential people (including our very own Norm) then you come home to your own cars that just happen to be trendsetting machines in themselves. I can''t wait to see the landy though, is it coming to RRG09?

Awesome Land-Rover, looks like a pretty cool street cruiser. Reminds me a lot of this one from Australia: This photo was taken about 3 years ago at the Nostalgia Drags in Sydney. As far as I've been able to work out, this Landy belonged to Chad Taylor and had a 393ci Ford Cleveland small-block V8, which pumped out 544.9 hp on the dyno at Summernats 21. The car ran a best time of 8.81@150mph, but it was tragically written off in a massive smash on the drag strip. The bodywork was genuine 1948 Series 1 Landrover.

He has either been living in/running a bar,.. or engaged in some kind of post apocalyptic lunacy in the mountains, judging by his facebook status updates.... or both.

Thank you for the welcome back chaps, I haven't been devoid of wifi-idge but just unable to sit still for long enough to get anywhere near a computer ;D I won't be at RR09 , as it's the same weekend as Bug Jam, where I will be gobbing off on a mic to the masses about all things air-cooled and stunt like. As for the Land Rover, I really need to spend some time on it, as I've never been too happy with the stance. Some of you will know that in the first pic of this thread, that ride height was achieved by some 'amibitious' lowering blocks on the back. Plus for me the front wheels have always been too close to the arches, imagine it with a narrowed front end. And like I said the rear suspension needs sorting, and the trans has spat it's fluid all over the workshop floor... So we'll see what the summer holds for it. To be honest I could get an MOT on it and smoke about, so that might happen just to get back in something funky for the next couple of months. As for the last six months, I took over a bar in the French Alps, it's the longest time I've spent in one place in ten years. So by evening I've been throwing flavoured vodka down my throat, and then by day my body off mountains. Each with their own dangers, I'm glad to say I'm still alive and back here.... HotWire pretty much nailed it on the head And bizarrely, for the first time in too many years, I've come back to the UK without buying a random vehicle. Although I did manage to pick up a modified Monkey bike on the way, it just wouldn't have been right to come back without another engine of some kind... Plans are well afoot to buy more stuff and get more stuff done in the next couple of months though, well afoot So yeah, here's some more Land Rover pics for those that haven't seen them
