Here's the basic plan: we get together on Sat 5th Sept to work on an RR car....or two.... The venue: Area52 in Bristol - RR SW Division storage/workshop/playpen/car enthusiast chill-out zone The idea: Morgs (Charlatan1) and myself were chilling down at A52 this morning, sipping tea, chatting etc.... and we got around to discussing his Fiesta. He wants to get it finished but doesn't have the space to work on it at the moment. I figured I could a-frame it down to the unit and get a load of us together to get cracking on it with the aim to get it as 'near finished' as possible? I'm sure Morgs will be along to fill in the actual details of what is needed to get it finished, but I thought I would get thte ball rolling and see if anyone is up for a group 'play day'? Already I know that Grunty will be coming along, so will Black8driver, myself & Morgs.....anyone else fancy a day of messing about with cars in the company of other RR peeps?? I'll have the BBQ going, there is plenty of room for everyone and if more people than are 'needed' come along, we can also get some work done on someone elses car. (e.g. Grunty wants a stereo head unit fitting to his Land Rover) Tea, coffee, drinks biccies all supplied. I've got tools, but please also bring some of your own....you can never have too many tools! If you're up for it.....just leave a comment here. More details to come very soon. Directions will be PM'd nearer the time. It should be fun - and this is just the start. The main idea is this happens fairly regularly and everyone gets their car worked on if they want. New skills can be learnt by those who want to learn more, cars make great progress and mojo is boosted all round. Most of all - it's a GREAT chance to meet up/catch up and have a laugh!

Thanks guys. Steve, sorry you can't make it but there will be plenty more if this one works out Oh - I forgot to say, if anyone wants to, there will be short rides in the Fugitive for those who didn't get a play at the Gathering (or another run for those that did - time permitting ;D)

I suspect I'll be able to make it, assuming I'm not doing anything that evening already (I'll be turning 21 the day after )

Darnations the bh2n lot (which includes me) are leaving for the nurburgring on the 3rd september for a week. If some sort of calamity ensues where i'm left say without a passport (a very real possibility) then i will be coming along to this. As it is i'm afraid i can't, but put me as a 'cert' for the next one.
This is a great idea, and something i love about a lot of the local hot rod clubs over in the states. More of this should go on.

ooooooooooooh, Fiesta work, I likes Fiesta's! What needs doing? I know Morgs will be able to fill in all the details when he gets home later....but I know that the interior needs refitting, bumpers, some engine work etc... From what he was saying earlier with a few people it's acheiveable in a day. It would be great if we could get it running & driving

Birthday build day ;D I'll bring a cake & some candles I knew you'd be up for this Doesn't have to be all day if you're required for 'beverage duties' on Sat night...just you being there for a few hours would be great. Tiggs, Gutted mate - absolutley gutted! After our chat the other day I just knew you'd be up for this if you were able to make it. You'll have a great time at the ring though.... To you & Speedman....another time for sure ;D

Have to try and work out a plan for that weekend as I'm at Billing Aqua Drone the next day for the FSOC national day

I am calling in with the kids as we are going to the Blueridge runners weekend show near Bridgewater. Will stuff some kit in the truck and spend a few minutes at area 52 with spanner in hand, might even put it near a nut n bolt

Most definitely up for this. I'm not the world's best mechanic but I know one end of a spanner from the other (one end's 12 mil and one's 13, innit? ;D ) I am calling in with the kids as we are going to the Blueridge runners weekend show near Bridgewater. Will stuff some kit in the truck and spend a few minutes at area 52 with spanner in hand, might even put it near a nut n bolt If you're there on the Sunday I expect me (and maybe The Good Lady) will come along and say hello. I'll have to withdraw.. Mrs is working on Sunday which means no options for moving our prior commitments from the sat. Gutted but hopefully swing by on the next one.. or just at any random time that suits Bruce for some car chat and wheel inspiration.

Fingers crossed for the MOT on Friday Robin Thanks to everyone for the response. I'm not sure where Morgs has got to, but he should be along shortly with details of what is needed on the car in question. I'll be getting some burgers, sausages etc....sorted, but if everyone brings a little bit of food then we know that no one will go hungry ;D Joe, sorry you can't make it now! next one for sure?

I still feel a bit guilty for the amount of bacon and sausage based products you gave me at the gathering so I'm sure I can find something tasty to bring along (insert jokey comment about man cheese here ;D )
