THIS IS AN AD I HAVE JUST FOUND ON www.ovalbangerchat.co.uk. NOT MY CAR. THERE IS ALSO A FEW MK5 CORTINAS BEING BROKEN (DIFFERENT AD). Austin cambridge A60 estate forsale, 1622cc , Manual, Runs but clutch cylinders are ceased but i have 2 reconditioned cylinders to go with it. Needs both outer sills and drivers side rear inner sill needs doing, needs a bit in drivers footwell for mot but would be fine for a banger. Where the tailgate bolts on at the bottom it needs repairing this is probably the worst bit. Front wings are solid but there is a dent on the passenger 1. Been sat in a barn for 36 years, was parked in there in september 1973 when the tax run out. Fairly easy restoration project but would make a solid banger. Looking to swap for a mot'd Mk2 granada or WHY or will sell for £500 or will go on ebay. 07837160222 car in oxfordshire junction 9 m40

I was with you right up to the £500.
Probably reasonable for a car of this rarity, but more than I can drop on a random save.
This is how most cars end up bangered. Nobody is prepared to pony up to save them

Have you seen the other cars that get offered on there? Recent one include a '64 Impala and plenty of other American stuff. Sad to say most are heavily stripped and some don't have log books and there's always something right up 'our' street going.
Worth joining if you want to keep an eye out on a bargain, but trust me you'll need a modern dictionary to undertstand the inordinate amount of 'text talking' bananas and the ones who couldn't type a decent advert to save their lives.

if you don't like the way they write their adverts, why not either not buy the car or tell them what you think rather than slagging them off somewhere you thinkt hey wont read it?

Yeah, I've seen a few ads on banger sites and the like over the years where I thought "damn, I wish you'd decided to sell it BEFORE you stripped it out" but hey.

Have already registered and put WANTED ads for stuff. Don't talk to me about 64 Impalas being tracked!

I've been registered on there for ages, and enjoy looking through some of the nostalgia threads. I've seen my old '71 Oxford appear for sale on there twice (most recently an ebay link in July....), apparently it's still on the road somewhere.

Matey selling the A60 is not adverse to keeping old cars on the road - his name was on the log book of my Laurel before it was bought by another racer I know & then by me...
