Apart from cars (and beer, and music and various other vices ) I've always been into bicycles. When I was 14 I got my first 'proper' bike - a green Carlton Criterium, loved that bike - stripped it down rode it everywhere, even did some time trials on it, That was in the days when I was young and fit and skinny. Fast forward 30 years and I'm none of those things anymore, but was browsing e-bay last week and found the identical bike to my first racer - same size, same colour, same year. Had to bid for it and picked it up today. ;D It was obviously once loved like mine was but that looks like it was a while ago It's bike resto time ........................ How it looked today....

AAAaaahhhh, To be skinny again.
To have the 6/8 pack and whippet like profile.
Nice bike by the way, could be a real time machine.

I had a Corsair in the late 80s. If youd shown the bike last week. I could have sent centrepull brakes. But there all gone now.

I had a Corsair in the late 80s. If youd shown the bike last week. I could have sent centrepull brakes. But there all gone now. Picked up a set of NOS brakes and levers from a bike shop who were selling off old stock on e-Bay - got them for 99p ;D ;D The frame is back from the painters and looking better than new plus the painter even sourced an original set of decals for it so they are on and it looks fantastic. Wheels have been rebuilt with new stainless spokes and I can't wait for it to be back together so I can take it for a blast. Pics of the finished project by the weekend ;D

The 'before' pictures are above........ a tatty 30+ year old racer which had seen better days. This is what it now looks like........ I can't claim the credit - apart from sourcing a few parts. It was done by a very talented guy called Tony Houben in Ascot. If you have a bike you want restoring I'd definately recommend giving him a call. This is his website........ www.retro-ride.co.uk/aboutus.htmlI only found him by accident as the website address is so similar to this one

NOM NOM NOM.
love it. except the white hoods which i always have issues with. mainly because i rarely ride a bike with clean gloves on so they always end up looking brown.
only one thing left to do and thats get out there and ride it.
happy days.

That's really handsome.
Gotta get me an old roadie at some point. Well, one that isn't fixed gear or singlespeed...
