Ah, I know that car well! Have been out in a couple of times.
What happened to the original eighties-tastic 'telephone dial' alloys?

oh yes plenty of space, thats the next thing on my list after sorting a few minor things out. its looking like custom suspension is the only way, just don't know any options available for it. its also my daily so things will come along slowly but surely. the standard engine is only 64k but just feels strained so one of my spare b6t's might find its way in some day. redtop2dr how do you know the car mate? i bought it from a guy in devon area just before christmas last year, been looking for one for years, and thought it was tidy as hell but turns out the rear sills were filled with putty. and the ol alloys came of within days of being on the road, found these cheap ones localish and threw em on as temps untill i can find some suitable dish ;-) (considering slot mags) I'm keeping the originals tho, I'm not stupid enough to get rid

I used to work for Mazda when these were new and ragged around in a 1.8 turbo which was quicker than most things on the road between 70 & 90mph. I nearly bought a race prepped one that just sold on flea bay for £1 050! I always loved the 1.4sport in the early shell and there was even a one make race series for ''dumpies''.

cheers, and ive never wanted a cardboard box so much in my life! i looked around for a while myself to try and find kits/displays of the old girl and came accross this. www.hlj.com/product/SAP333461/43 scale though so pretty damn small but if it was stock id be getting one sent right away. (woudl have to spray it white tho ;-))

I knew the car's first owner and went out in a few times. I was going to buy it about a year ago, but found the sill issues and bought a different 323 instead.
Yours is a great little car! There is another TWR 323 in Dorchester, so not far from you. Although yours was supplied by Magna Mazda, the chances are it was sourced from a Weymouth-based distrbutor, that was owned at the time by Win Percy.

yeh i think I'm only the 3rd or 4th owner from new, the engine and box is a little ropey too but its all still kicking so see how long i can keep it goin untill time comes to fit b6t.
interior is immaculate twiddle knob radio (no fm, no tape deck even!) love it.. not going to install headunit if i do i will hide it under seat or something and leave it looking factory inside.
would love to get all the known ones of these together some day for a shoot. i live near cheddar gorge thats always a nice location for it.

I had a 1.1 BD a couple of years ago as my first project. I had lots of bad luck with it, but I liked its character... it was very beige inside and out

Mine is known as the Beige-Mobile. One passenger recently likened it to sitting inside an NHS hearing aid!

yeh fewer and farer between for sure, great to see others on here who own or have owned them.. i find it hard to explain my connection with this car to anyone who hasnt owned one. i have an 86 4wd turbo in my garage too, waiting for funds to undergo full restoration, hence why i have two spare b6t engines and GB.
cheers mat, yeh ive been trolling through the laser forums for some time looking for info.. only conversions i tend to find are one off rotary jobs etc. but i don't want to cut a tunnel into her to use rx7/mx5 running gear or use the heavy 4wd gear so need to find a suitable Fwd box as i don't think the standard one would mate or hold up to the strain. case of waiting untill i can take her off the road for a bit and whip it all out and see how things fit. p.s. that pic was yours.? looks great, color coded trim etc deffinatley brings it forward a few years, and suprisingly like the subtle arches and skirt. gunna try and stay stock ish looking on mine tho.
