Hi, this is a quick introduction to my car, its a Rover P5B. These pictures were taken just over a year ago when it still had its 3.5 ltr V8 in it. The majority of the bodywork has been done with just a bit of tidying left to do. This was the worst of the rust, I cant find the pictures of the repair so you will just have to use your imagination and see nice shiney steel panels in place. I ran it for the summer and then decided to put a bigger engine in. So out came the little 3.5, and in its place went a 4 ltr 1uzfe from a lexus,

Winning! This will be epic. I've had a similar idea for one of those or a BMW quad cam V8 in a P6 but I never thought they would fit in the engine bay.

Its a tight fit. The 1 uzfe is a wide engine, You can see how big it is next to the old rover v8. Ive had to remove the old steering box and fit a bmw 3 series rack.

Awesome. Always thought the p5b was such an easier car to work on than a p6b

Likewise! So, tell me. How easy are these Lexus V8 thingies to work with? I mean is the ECU wiring seperate so the whole lot will come out without having to chop up the loom? And is there a selection of manual gearboxes that'll fit on? TIA

The engine loom came with the engine still connected, a couple of wires had to be cut but not many. The floppy end of the loom goes to the ecu and dash, It isnt connected and running yet, but should only need 10 wires splicing into the rover loom and 3 relays. ( I HOPE !) I didnt really look into manual gearboxes as ive kept the auto box because it suits the rover better. There is an adapter plate available so the toyota supra gearbox can be used.

Nice car/engine combo; I notice you've debadged it and shaved the front indicators off, suits it well.
