Right well myself and a mate Lee picked this up today. Started off when another mate of ours Barry wanted a van dropped off in Devon. We went down there dropped it off and on the way back popped to his dads to see a trailer he was selling. While there is told us about a Mk1 scamp in a barn that he had owned for a while. Anyway we had a beer then as you do thought. Hey! Why go back with an empty trailer. So we dragged it out and chucked it on the trailer. Plan is really to get it on the road for less then £200. In the barn. Dragging it out! On the trailer Me being a tit on the way home. I think the main idea is to spend a few long weekend on it over the summer with a few beers and a BBQ and throw it together. We have more then enough spare bits between us. So yea. curse word scamp coming to a show near you soon! Ta.

Right well heres some pics! I'll make a video up later. Some pics before we really did anything. It took lee about 20 mins to get working! First up we needed a petrol tank. TahDah! With that filled up it fired up with a bit of work. Next up getting it too move. Had to free the clutch off which was no problem with a big bar and a hammer. Then the throttle. There was no pedal on the car and we didn't have a spare one laying around so we just bodged up a hand throttle with some old wire. Then of course a seat! For this our best bodge. And old engine and some mats! Anyway with all this it only bloody worked! Have some great videos which I will get up but for now a few more pics. After this we decided to fit a floor. So we found a bit of wood and threw it in and lobbed and a kirky seat in for good measure as the engine was not very comfy. Me doing my OMG I'm gonna be killed driving position. Anyway had a great weekend of it. Was a right crack and bloody funny!

Cheers man. Yea it is by far the most fun car I have ever owned. Plan is to get it up and running just drive around the yard. Then once it together will be go back and get it road legal. Has a log book with it which is marked as scamp which helps alot as alot still say mini. Best bit is its tax free!

I love scamps I wanted to build a SWB mk3 GT years back, but funds weren't available (I was 17 at the time ) Looks like you got a bit of a bargain with it being properly registered and tax exempt

They are bloody cool! Yea I think it was a bit of a bargain seeing as its not cost anything so far really. Just throwing it altogether with old parts we have. Once that done we will go through and replace any really dodgy looking bits. We will get it on the road at some point but for now we are just using it as a play thing to rag around the farm in.

Lovely stuff! I used to have a Mk1 Scamp and it was so much fun to drive ;D I really miss it. Looking forward to seeing it come along! A scaled-down version of 'that' Land-Rover? Talking of land rovers and scamps... here's a gif of my old scamp that had a land rover roof grafted on it
