Hi there! After a few reactions on my car in Cheeqi's topic, it was time to start my own topic about my Renault 5 TL!
My other car, a 1985 Renault 5 GT Turbo, is currently garaged to sort some things out so I was in need for another car! Because I'm a real Renault 5 nutter the choice was simple...the only demands were that it had to be old and ugly ;D
After a month of searching I purchased the following car;
1985 Renault 5 TL, 1100cc, 4-speed gearbox
Pretty good condition for it's age, only downsides is that it had damage on the passengers side. But that in combination with the color made it sooo ugly that it was good enough for me ;D
After buying Phase 2 bumpers en sprayed all the plastic Matt black, I also found an imperial for free and also sprayed it Matt black. After that it was time to slam the 5 on the ground and but some nice wheels under it...
All the parts needed were on the 5 GT Turbo which isn't running so I swapped all the parts from the GT Turbo to the TL...
In the front I put the FK Coil-overs and at the back the GT Turbo dampers, adjusted the torsion bars (yes, they came out in 5 minutes...no rust ;D) and the look was set!
Only downside is that the back is so far up because of the 7J ET 13 wheels. They don't fit within the wheel arches
But hopefully I can adjust the arches with a big hammer so much that they will fit! If it works, it will look like this;
That's it for now, the following step is to but MoT (APK in Holland)on it, and then I will be searching for some accessories to put on the imperial and stickers to put on the rear side windows ;D
I'll keep you informed
By the way, this is the 5 GT Turbo which donated the coil-overs and rear dampers
