I don't know about cool lol!
I did measure up the k series I'm putting in my mini and iirc it was too wide to fit without major surgery to the front turrets/suspension etc. That was with an mgf pg1 box though which is a big lump. You might be able to squeeze one in with the smaller R65 'box (metro, 214,216,414,416 etc).

Yeh, he reckons the Metro engine/box assembly should go in, we recently saw a Rover Metro with a 1.8 vvc turbo'd lump in. There is a large Allegro shaped space in our driveway now...

Bit of an update - the set of wheels I won ebay turned up today so I fitted two on the car and took some pics. Now, I'm going to make my excuses first - the pics are curse word 'cos it was dark, cold (very!) and the because of where the car is parked I had to stand in the hedge (literally IN the hedge) to take photos. Before you ask, no I couldn't move the car as the new wheels take sleeve nuts of which I have none! The other excuse is that I'm a curse word photographer Rear Front Can you guess what they are yet? The car is supported underneath which is why it has 4x4 suspension, there's no actual weight on the wheels. Couple more pics to come - must go eat!

Right I've had me dinner now. Not sure whether to go with the lotus wheels or not as I'm thinking of going a slightly different route. Anyhow, the bits for my braided hoses turned up from rally design. Here's the old hose, when I took it off I found it was totally blocked so no wonder the brakes were wibblepoo! Made a new rigid pipe (goes from flexi to caliper). Didn't take any pictures of making the braided hoses but it all goes together easily enough. Here's the finished item on the drivers side, it still needs connecting at the top, but because somebody ordered the wrong thread for the hose end I've got to redo the hardline with the correct union. Much better than the manky old rubber item!

^^^What he said, those rims would look great on there tucked up in the arches. Is it the same pcd then? Food for thought... On mine I just made do with the original rims with 155/70 rubber(slideathon on wet roundabouts) and the uber cool Mk1 1750SS wheel trims.

nice work dude, the wheels look similar to renault 5 gordini rims and or ronal turbo's but I'm more than likely wrong. either way they are cool!

More wheel fun! Here's a side on of the Lotus rims, the gert big 205/60 14's don't look right, and again it's supported underneath. Then I had a brainwave whilst looking at my Mini and the spare wheels I have for it.Next thing you know, this happened - Cool! Now, I know that a lot of people dislike minilights/superlights , but I love 'em so even if they have been "done" to death. Then I got really carried away and fitted one of the new wheels I have for the mini Cheeky little starmag! Mismatched wheels From above, rear and then front That's with 175/50 13's, I reckon something like 165/65 13 would be better.

I like the lotus wheels with those tyres. The 13s don't fill the arches looks a bit daft imo.

Yeah the 13's are a bit lost in those huge arches.I still reckon it'd work with a larger profile and slightly narrower tyre, but the only ones I have to hand are 145/80's which would be too streteched IMHO (not opening that can of worms, I just think very stretched tyres look wibblepoo)
I've put a 185/60 14 on one of the lotus rims so will try that on the car and see how it looks.
