Cheers, I've been using it all weekend to try and get a feel for how it drives. Not too keen on the brakes as they feel very wooden. I might swap the pads for some red stuffs and see how they go.

Seen your 'rado in Soton a couple of times, so will keep an eye out for this to.
As for the brakes, change the fluid to 551. Did wonders for my Arosa track car.

What a difference a day makes! Rear lights swapped for standard items and small bumpers fitted. Going to need the wing brackets front and rear for the bumpers. Also need a replacement front valance as it's been hacked about to fit the spots on the big bumpers and a front splitter. Not to mention a quick blow over with rattle can after a quick sand to get rid of the surface rust. Looks much less chav and more retro. Result! Cost to dateCar - £500 Tax - £110 Grill + Lamps - £10 Small bumpers - £20 OE rear lamps - £10 Sold single lamp grill - £10- Total - £640Nick

Ha ha. No chance of that! Sold the camper to get this bad boy and the amount of grief I got from Mrs Horney is still ongoing. I'll need to keep it for at least 2 years before it'll have been worth it.
THis thing is like a quicker, more hardcore version of my old mini and I grin like a fricking idiot every time I climb in and turn the key. Tomorrows commute to work in the Rado is going to seem rather tame!

Awesome, small bumpers are much cooler too. Trackdays are always money well spent IMO!
Also, do you still have the passat GT? I liked it!

No I sold the Passat as it had terminal rot under the sills. Engine and coilovers are now in my mates Golf. More progress and pics this evening. Picked up some new indicators from GSF for the grand total of £8. Fund some chav tape I used n the Passat when I fancied red stripes so used that on these non GTI bumpers and then cracked out the boiled linseed oil on all the plastics. Looks much better I think you'll agree. A mate has dug up an interesting article on Matey Matey about the car. That'll explain the slight outline of matey matey stickers in the side window then! www.matey-matey.com/1900_mk2_gti.shtmlNick

They do look better on small bumpers. This makes me wonder why I was considering converting my old Driver to big ones. I've still got the rear one behind the shed.

I big bumpered my 1st one back in the late 90's but now I'm all about the small ones. Must be my age and craving originality. Flat cap and slippers are on order!
