When did you last seen one of these over here?!
After selling my BMW 1602 a month ago I've been looking for something else interesting to replace it, After looking around and seeing some of the other curse word out there for under £2000 (and writing my modern car of in the progress) I started to get a bit fed up and lose my mojo, until I saw this for sale online.
The advert was 5 days old so I wasn't holding out much hope and as I was down the pub Mrs Trigger rang up for me, Amazingly it was still for sale!.
So yesterday we drove across to Hertfordshire to view it, I was trying not to get to excited as I'd be let down before, but I needn't have worried, the car was stunning!, It really is up to show standard and well cared for all it life.
It only has 69000 miles on the clock and stack of old paperwork, with every mot from 1990 and a fully stamped up service book before that to prove the mileage.
Everything about it looked like new, even the interior and boot, After a quick test drive I was sold and bought it!
I went this afternoon to collect it and drive it the 100 miles home, It's fantastic, It cruses alone at 60-65mph really nicely, the brakes work well and both the clutch and the steering feather light.
I'm on cloud 9 right now!.
Anyway we all like photos so here they are, YOU HAVE BEEN TANGOED!
The front reminds me of a baby Chevrolet, Though I guess Chevy and Opel are all part of the GM group.
It had a full stainless steel exhaust fitted in 1994 costing £244, It makes a nice little farting noise, much like a Moggy Minor.
No Fuel injection or ECU's to worry about here, Just lots of waxoil.
The button on the right near the door is the windscreen wash pump, and even the interior light still works!.
69000 Genuine mileages.
The boot is massive and like new inside.
The owner even gave me a big pile of old autocar magazines as well as the original sales brochure, It has every mot back to 1990, The car comes from J.D Phelps, Bulwark Garage, Chepstow, Gwent new, before moving to Dorset in 1993 where a lot of the work was done before moving to Louth in Linconshire and then Hertford.
I can't make my mind up on the plates, some people said to keep the B&W's, other have said the originals, I really don't know!
he's even gave me a box full of spares for it as well which is handy, I haven't looked yet to see what there is but it looks like head gaskets, brake cylinders and door rubbers.
I don't have any plans to mod it as it's to nice and rare for that, I'd love to know how many other Kadett B's there are on British roads.
