Hi guys
Thought I would introduce you to the other car that I drive, on ocassion! It's actually my mum's car but she's hardly driving it anymore so I get most use out of it, bit different to driving the imp!
Bit of history of the car, We have owned the car now for about 10 years (can't believe it's that's long!) We bought it with a few small problems, the carb had blown gaskets, the fuel pump was hit and miss, changed the water hoses and generally had the engine a good service and going over.
Those of you who know abput scimitars remember robin rew, it was Robin rew and dave mac who actually fitted the turbo to this engine back in the day, and now dave is back with it as he does all our work to it (top man!)
We had all the shocks replaced with fully adjustable spax, no handles great, controlable even when it does step put! was shoclked the first time I drove it! when I get my hands on it fully it will be meeting the stick, but while we share it I best leave it haha.
The car is great fun, it's a 2.8 cologne engine running on a 38 DGAS weber and has (what I think) is a t4 turbo off a cossie. the power is great, the turbo is currentlly turned right down but this is due to a problem I wanted to ask you guys about. The weber that is on the car keeps blowing it's gaskets when it is put under high boost, we have had it rebuilt a few times now but still happens.
I was considering converting it to efi and then megajolt meaning we can turn the turbo back up?
I thought this would work but I have just been on the burton power site and it says that when the cologne engine is put through forced induction people tend to go back to carb.
what do you think guys?
anyway hope you like the car, it keeps me happy!
