With those alloy Speedex wheels The Austin 7 based car also looks a little like the 'Forrest' Formula 750 of the late 50s/early 60s. Not 100% sure it is, 'Forrest' had a dramatic roof chop and a split front axle. Possibly an earlier incarnation? There is lots of info on 'Forrest' in Allan Staniforth's Race and Rally Car Source Book. Hopefully this isn't too much of a thread diversion. Crackin' site btw. I'm so inspired I'm off to polish some alloys. Welcome to the site, thank for the info.. will have to see if we can find some follow up info on it. Loads of Austin Seven/Ruby/Bantam rods here : www.flickr.com/photos/austin7nut/sets/72157625402132666/

I reckon you could make an awesome mini articulated lorry using a shortened Honda Acty pickup for the tractor unit.

Saw this in a mag once. Nash Metropolitan The body was built in the UK by Fisher & Ludlow who became part of BMC. Austin provided the running gear and made them for Nash. Austin also built them for the UK market from 1957.... this little beauty was based on the Nash.... It was called the Astra-gnome You can see where Vauxhall got their inspiration from... Should i get out more??
