A few of my pics from yesterday.... Kev catches up with the A52 convoy at Morrisons in WSM and immediately pulls out some random bits of tube then proceeds to fit his new tailpipe His workshop spreads amongst the car park as he starts using the kerb as a bench/vice for cutting the tube The lads arrive back from a quick shop run carrying lots of food for the day while Kev gets the tailpipe on. Jed sits there willing Mikey to drop some of his baguette. Jed wins just after this shot was taken. Call it a bodge, call it traveller, call it OTT.....one thing for sure, it's 100% Kev ;D We get to the beach and I immediately see some good friends...both people and cars. My old MX5 being one of them - I still have a very big soft spot for this thing. Craig's Pop is very blue, very beautiful and very nicely made. Attention grabber? You got it... From every angle, this thing is just lovely. Drive by shooting was rife on the beach. Gareth's Celica is mind blowing. Attention to detail? This car has 7 years of detail lavished on/in it. One of my fave cars ever. Gareth is a top bloke too...it's easy to dislike some people Li'l B8D plays in the sand. Just over a year old, he's attended quite a few meets already - something tells me he's gonna be into his cars as long as he's not exposed to too many pink tools! Steve's (Sleeperviva's) stunning bike made a great counterpoint to Si's blacked out dirtbike. Sweet'N Low I was lost for words when I got to the end of the line of cars and saw this. Just lovely....so have a few pics. More to come.....

Craig's wheels - the loudest thing on the beach by a country mile.....in the flesh, they give you arc eye! Kev gets around on Rich's bike Jed finds some shade under the Lawsy 'Zombie Hunter' - he likes these kinda vehicles. For some of us, the meet started and ended here. It always adds an extra level to the day with the convoy there & back then some fun in the unit. The vibe was relaxed. Great people, great cars and great laughs Looked great cruising around the beach. Went off for a bit of a walk. Jed loves sand dunes...and chilling. I was enjoying the view of my new(ish) ride. Been too long coming and was great to have it on the road.... Was I happy yesterday? You bet!

I'm just glad everyone enjoyed it. I did wonder when we had the first one in October '09 if the idea had legs, the attendance at the last couple has proved it to be the case.
BEACH PARTY 5. Mark it in your diaries now. SUNDAY OCTOBER 23RD 2011 ;D

I too had a great day! Unfortunately I sold my car on Saturday and didn't want to come in my Mk3 5 door Golf (apparently it's the next big thing in VW scene but not yet ) so I tagged along in the Delica sharing a seat with mr. Jed. The cars and people were awesome and in a very stressful time I managed to laugh very hard for most of the day I also took few pictures on my phone: RRBPMAR11 008 by MikeyPhresh, on Flickr Jed thinking that we're going to a dog show. RRBPMAR11 036 by MikeyPhresh, on Flickr Jacking the vosa-zoku on the sand. RRBPMAR11 045 by MikeyPhresh, on Flickr Awesome Car-B-Q and Tim shouting at someone RRBPMAR11 022 by MikeyPhresh, on Flickr What it's all about... RRBPMAR11 030 by MikeyPhresh, on Flickr Rich's bike with it's own parking spot. RRBPMAR11 021 by MikeyPhresh, on Flickr Dubberz... RRBPMAR11 038 by MikeyPhresh, on Flickr Mark (speedy88) and his amazing pinstriped Williams Volvo. RRBPMAR11 018 by MikeyPhresh, on Flickr This blew my mind... (also special iPhone 'in-motion' stretch ) RRBPMAR11 024 by MikeyPhresh, on Flickr 127! My dad used to have one when I was about 5! Epic wheels dude! What are they called and what are they off? I want RRBPMAR11 050 by MikeyPhresh, on Flickr Of course the MX-5... Camber+stretch=WIN! And a really nice BMW in the background. RRBPMAR11 048 by MikeyPhresh, on Flickr Perfection. RRBPMAR11 054 by MikeyPhresh, on Flickr 100% Matt J (well 87% considering the quality of Kev's bird's paintjob ) RRBPMAR11 058 by MikeyPhresh, on Flickr And negotiating some speed bumps on the way back. As I said, great day and epic cars. Thanks for doing this and I hope to see you guys soon somewhere else!

Having taken my newly-purchased Xantia down (didn't miss a beat there and back, and did 37mpg despite coming home at 85 most of the way....how's that for value) I was chuffed to see this similarly-aged Volvo 4-series. I think we should start a new category for 'Post-Retro'. Incredibly well looked-after. I'm just surprised someone bothered to take a pic of it! ;D Cheers dude!

Mark it in your diaries now. SUNDAY OCTOBER 23RD 2011 ;D I've attended every beach meet since the 1st one in October 2009 & since that 1st meet the number of cars attending has steadily grown so I think it won't be long until we see over 100 cars at a beach meet & that would be ace! probably a great shot before some daft wazok walked into frame... ;D ;D One of the reasons I put the shot up was because I thought it looked good having someone in the frame. Sometimes (not all the time) it just seems to work better having some extra context rather than just a car on its own. I also like this shot (forgot to put it up yesterday) and don't think it would have worked as well if the guy wasn't in it....

I'm quite adverse to having my pic taken, but end up walking blindly into other peoples photos with regular occurrence.
