Hey there.
Did a search, but it turned up nothing along the lines of this thread.
I'm most likely getting a dolly as a first car, but i'd like to see what can be done, and google images has turned up virtually no pictures of slammed/stretched dolomites. I'm after lowering, wide wheels basically.
So, bung me your pictures please?
Cheers!

Stolen pictures from this thread... retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=94544Probably still my favourite. There's a distinct lack of lows with Dollies, I can't remember ever seeing a slammed one... They never really get the slam treatment as there's a lot going on underneath and the arches aren't the most spacious things in the world for wide tyres... Lastly, first car. Modified. Insurance. Extortion. Pizza pizza pie, every minute every second buy, buy, buy, buy, buy.

Yeah i've heard theres a lot 'going on underneath' but we'll see. If people can do it to minis with that sump hanging out I'm sure its doable.

Cool choice of first car! I'd quite happily roll in one of these.

Nah, its beige, but i agree, they do look good in brown I think its gunna have steels on, which on a dolly look rank, so i'll need to get some alloys.

Ok i can only really drop a dolly about an inch without it becoming undrivable.
Anyone know what the pcd is and what sort of alloys i can get on one of these?

PCD is 4 x 3.75" (95.25mm) Same as Herald/Spitfire, MGF, early Lotus etc.

My toledo used to be quite low but sump would bottom out very easily.

dolomites and fwd will ground on speed bumps at stock height. That is why they are rarely slammed. Great cars though

My choice would be an 1850, 75% of the everyday performance of the sprint but a lot cheaper. Quite easy to work on and plenty of bits. Re lowering, it can be done a little, about 1 inch is the most recommended as you will bottom it out on speed bumps etc. there is a lot of stuff that will scrape including exhaust and the sump. My old Sprint was lowered at the front at some point and not at the back (below) and that would bottom out on some speed bumps. Best off getting a nice 1850 first, maybe some nice rims (Revolutions, Alleycats or the Sprint and TR7 wheels) and keeping it like that for a while.

The factory raced them in the BTCC Probably didn't have to worry about speedhumps at Silverstone. ;D
