Been contemplating the same thing since popping the question a couple of weeks ago. The decision has been made that I need to get my backside into gear because she want's to arrive at the church in my Avenger. Not that it helps you at all

I used my dads Aston DB7 Vantage for getting Mrs 10mpg there and my TVR Chimaera for getting us back to the reception.. Wedding cars don't have to be practical! And a rare shot of my hairy in a suit

For the cost of hiring a car, you might be able to pick up a tidy looking Lexus LS400 in white over grey. Enormous boats, really comfortable and incredibly practical for meringue dresses... you might even get to keep it afterwards too. Failing that, there's always a Volvo 740 limo, got to be a few of them kicking about and still available for hire. Mind you, I suppose the above are a bit 'mainstream' to us even though you don't see that many of them about anymore.

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but i now have 6 months, and i have found NOTHING that suits my tastes. Scotland just seems to be full of horrid Hummer hire limos.
Anyone able to help?

There must be a P6 old Rover/Jag owners club that wouldn't mind.
Or how about a Jensen Interceptor?

It has to be a nice car, thats all. Whether it's American, British, French probably doesn't matter, but it has to be impressive and ideally unique. I was flattered when a mates sister asked me to hers. Wasn't too easy getting her in the back with the big dress, but she loved it and the car is nice and clean so no grease on the dress.

Not that I'm getting married, but I fancy the idea of this as a wedding car.

;D I swear, the way people made space for me they must've thought I was off to a wedding. Just did it for the lols for a club calendar shoot, even had a matching top hat on the parcel shelf. Does the bride have to ride in the back? If not then a 2-door will suffice. Could you find an interesting roadworthy car from eBay or similar for the big day and then sell it on to get the cash back? It might only cost as much as hiring a car for the day anyway and would be a great talking point at the wedding itself.

When I drove my car to the wedding and back even without the bride in the car I was quite surprised how many people honk and wave at you. Felt a bit odd lol

Glad this thread came up again as i couldnt find it last weekend.
Me n missus were talking about getting married again.
I recon i'll arrive in my Fiesta, she's happy to use the Volvo, although she'd also need a second car so we're not sure if we'd use the Sierra, OR find someone with a matching, or similar Volvo.
Then we can both leave the church in the Fiesta

I guess my biggest reluctance is hiring some modern forgettable BMW or something. My wife was persuaded at the last minute by a well meaning relative that she shouldn't use the lovely white FX taxi we'd organised. She arrived in a sky blue, nine year old S-type Jag. I was livid. A couple we know got married recently in Central Scotland, they had a couple of awesome Rollers that I have photos of somewhere. I'll try and find them and PM you with them. Me n missus were talking about getting married again. Again? Man, I totally love my wife but I'm not sure I'd marry her again.
