thanks very much retromat,we are a rare breed us hiace lovers, lol,i actually brought this in from japan over 2 years ago cos finding a good rust free one at home would be impossible now, even though they were everywere back in the early 80's and the pickup model was made up until 1986 until it got replaced by the newer dyna model,it got a very light restoration body and cab of for paint and that was it,no rust just minor surface rust,it must not have got any hard work as there was no dents or wear in the back, unless in was used for carrying pillows or sponge's,lol

That is tidy, the interior looks unused. Great post , gives me inspiration, although salt on the roads over here (Norway) makes light work of Japanese Steel.

Got to be honest never ever seen one in south africa plenty of the people carrier type still on our roads scary stuff usually with no rear brakes one front crimped off and a pair of vice grips operating as the steering wheel and filled with people and roof rack with goats and chickens on it LOL but fantastic work mate you have done a good job of reviving a classic

Thanks for showing. So clean. Had a Hiace minibus, about a '79 i think, in the family from new. Only recently threw out the original rear seats which my old man had taken out within weeks of getting it to convert it into a campervan.

love it.. don't rememeber the last time i saw one in real life , Let alone one that clean. If it were mine id have a more subtle exhaust though.. I don't mind loud but that looks more at home on a scooby.
