I've just found this bumped thread. I happen own the gold coloured car, which was Nick's prototype and labour of love in the late 80s. I am also curious about the red one, which has a much cleaner looking rear end on it! Hopefully the owner will find this thread at some point too. That is awesome, I love when old threads make connections to current owners.

I just did a DVLA tax check, a private reg was applied after the Top Gear review and I could just make out 19 PHR from the photo on the advert website. Luckily it was A19 PHR so I didn't have to go too far through the alphabet. Any way it's currently SORN and MOT expired in July 2011. So I guess it's squirrelled away somewhere. Not sure if it displays if it's been scrapped but at least it comes back with full details rather than unrecognised. It's probably 0.0001% chance, if not less, they're the owners but there is a company called PHR Performance that tune motorbikes - peterhickman.net/phr-performance/

Crikey this thread is so old I've just re-learned about this car even though I posted it originally. Would love to see pics of the gold one.
