Looks like a fairly tidy City Any modding plans for it? I know you can get a inlet for a single double weber for those, sounds and looks great! (mileage goes down "somewhat" though ;D )

Only real plans for it at the moment are a slight lowering and stiffening, painting the steels black and fitting chrome centre caps. I want to keep it looking as original and retro as possible It has a webber fitted! don't think its a sindle double or what ever though haha. I have added a discreet sound system to it, which is essentially a musical pick nic box with a switch in the dash and an AUX cable hidden under the carpet and running to the front, looks completely stock and like I'm ready for a pick nic haha. Just on the search for a decent colour match paint so i can sort out the little bits of rust and get her looking mint

I agree, that is a tidy motor you came across, i think keeping it as original as you can is a good idea too.

This is beyond cool! There's just something about seeing a car of this age in such good condition that puts a smile on your face

Where do people recomend getting a decent colour match with paint on a retro?! Surely the colour would have faded abit so will need to be custom mixed?

That is a lovely thing. Can't offer advice on paint matching but I did wonder if this tickled your fancy. Banded steels (more on the back than the front) and some lowering, a bit of tidying on the paint and nothing else.

If I were going for banded steelies on a Kadett, I would rather band the "rostyle" looking ones. But the chop is looking good no matter what. Nice car.

Right thought it was about time to update this. I have some bad news a car forced me into a barrier joining the motorway which resulted in dents along one side of my car which revealed some hidden rust I didnt know about before! Which is a pain but I shall get it fixed! Anyway I bought some BBS alloys for it which I think look pretty cool! This is them fitted And thennnnn I hit it with the stick....... And one which shows the damage its not too bad, the white was just to cover up the bare metal to stop it rusting, it looks pretty ratty but I like it! The front bumper will be re-fitted, and I will actually be raising the rear by almost an inch, its on the bump stops atm I wish I could keep it this low but its just unbearable bouncy and bumpy! an inch is all it needs though, and should probably bring it in level with the front (if not a little lower) eitherway it should look cool. I know it may not be to everyones taste, and it seems ive ruined a tidy example of a rare car, but its reversible, and the damage will be repaired, its my car at the end of the day and I'm just going to enjoy it

How much did you lower it or is it chopped springs? I've got a chevette but the biggest drop spring kit I have seen is -60mm Doesn't look like it'll cut it for me
Shame about the damage but at least it helped you find the rust before it could get any worse and at least its repairable

The rear actually Fiat 126 rear springs and dampers, but they arent really long enough so have bought some new dampers and will be fitting the original front springs chopped down and put in the back. The front is actually Nissan Almera front springs with a coil cut off, they have a higher spring rate so will be stiffer at the front. The rears should be abit stiffer with the front springs, and ill actually have some suspension travel! And i know its such a shame it looked so good before but the reason it looked good was because it had been covered in filler and resprayed haha, so i will be welding new metal in and using minimal filler.
